I recently had a dream in which I was getting married. I didn't know anyone who was there, and I didn't know who I was marrying. I had on a gorgeous huge flowing white dress, but for some reason, I had a black dress on underneath that I wanted to wear instead, and I felt very strongly about it - no one fought me on it and I eventually ended up wearing that one. The dream had a very dark surreal feel to it, and there were dark red roses everywhere and they were very large. I believe I was in a large dark Gothic style church with dark arches and stone, but I never made it to the part where I get married before I woke up. I'm just looking for some interpretation and insight to what this may foretell or what the elements within my dream may mean about my life. Thanks.

Hello unsolicited_happieness,
I think this dream signals your readiness for a social commitment that is strictly by your terms. In deference to the whole purity and innocence bit, you'd probably perfer a bit of deep, dark mystery about yourself (black instead of white dress)...and let us not forget passion (red roses). I hope this helps.

Quote:
What have you got against marriage? Your dream points to a strong anti-marriage feeling, or if you're already married, a strong dissatisfaction with your stateof affairs. However the dream is a waking dream. The waking elements are the strong contrasting colours, especially the black. There are also several surprise elements in the dream that nudge you towards wakefulness. Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
A black dress means a sorrow. The dark red roses if without roots mean a sorrow, if they were in roots and rose bushes means a happiness because of a kid. Good luck.

To dream of a wedding tends to symbolise a commitment or relationship issues. As you didn’t know anyone, especially your husband-to-be, then maybe this is a desire to become involved in a relationship. Or maybe you are an ‘incurable romantic’. Hence the red roses.
The bridal gown sounds ‘fairytale’. White symbolises innocence and spiritual purity. Black could be negativity and judgement. Maybe you ‘harboured doubts’ about going through with the ceremony. Particularly as you never ‘see’ yourself at the Altar. Was the style of church a ‘manifestation’ of fear, perhaps of the ‘unknown‘?
