Never had a dream quite like this.

Hi everyone! First of all, this is my first post here, so please do forgive me if i make any silly mistakes (regarding usual forum etiquette or common practices) :P. Last night, well i suppose this morning, i was awoken (time for work) from this dream. The earliest in the dream i can remember is sitting down, with what seemed to be more than one other person, around my dog. Her name is Bonnie, and i love her to bits, i would never do anything to hurt her. In fact i'm probably more protective of her than some of my friends. She's a black lab by the way too . I do not know who these people were, but in the dream i didn't feel uncomfortable around them. However, in my dream, i felt uneasy, not right. Well, we were eating my dog. I realized this, but still ate some. Not long into the whole bizarre thing, i looked down and realized my dog was still conscious. She didn't act as if in pain, but she didn't look happy by any means. She lifted her head, and looked me in the eyes, and i remember very clearly that her eyes seemed extremely bloodshot. I realized that i had made a mistake, and wished i hadn't have let us all eat Bonnie. But it was too late, and i didn't want her to be in pain. I couldn't bring myself to do anything to hurt her more though. That's when i woke up. It sucked, and i have thought about it all day. Do you think that there is any meaning to this whole thing? Sorry it's so long, but very rarely do i have dreams that i struggle to shrug off. Thanks guys.

somtimes dreams of eating something unpleasant are about psyching yourself up for some negative outcome. you're also looking your dog in the face, trying to face someone maybe?

sitting around is about conversations. the people who were there could be the type of conversation. very average people? could be about saying something completely dull and predictable.

there are some descriptive details missing probably. how would you eat a dog is one question that springs to my mind. and what sort of people were they.

thanks for the reply, why we were eating my dog? Not sure. I do remember it was outside, we were surrounded by woods. It would make sense to say we were just surviving, but in the dream i wasn't starving or anything. I do remember that when I met eyes withmy dog, that was when I felt worst about killing her. I know that I do not know the people in the dream though. Thanks again. Anyone else (or same person, hehe) have any opinions?

Your eyes meet your dog's eyes which basically means you want to face that specific matter/person. In the east, I know they said dogs sometimes represent enemies or not so much of a friend sometimes...although specifically you dreamt of your own dog, perhaps you have crossed someone that is not that good natured toward you or you feel they are not or will meet this person and you feel that you want to wrong them or get back and are having doubts as in thinking you may regret it and or be sorry about it in the long term. Perhaps your judgment of a specific person in your life is not correct, they are not bad or negative or ill willed...so you may have regret over your treatment of that person/matter. You look at her eyes directly - it means dealing with a matter head on! Hope this helps a bit for what it is worth...

you're weird. i asked what sort of people were they, and /how/ do you eat a live dog? with you bare hands? drink it through a straw? knife and fork?

what sort of people.. it doesn't matter if you didnt know them, people have personalities, your subconscious created these people, and possibly clothed them and gave them human features for you to observe.

anyway. this probably relates to a person. you just feel they will be loyal to you. like a loyal pet. and you don't really like this about them. maybe you've been thinking of talking to them but they are hard to face.

bloodshot eyes are interesting. could be fear related to seeing someone suffering. or not, because when i see someone with bloodshot eyes i feel more afraid for myself.
