I go into the guest room to close a window, and notice bugs. then the more i look around carefully, i see more and more of them every where. mostly ants; i cant remember what the other bugs were. I definitely remember the ants, and all kinds of them. I don't know how, but some got onto my hands. They were very large black carpenter ants (it looked liked). They burrowed into my hands, and turned around while under the skin of my hands, in the same place they entered, so that i could see the heads of the ants, with their large mandibles poking out. They didn't move any more once in this position. Strangely i seemed somewhat calm for the situation; once they stopped moving anyway. I started to grab them one by one at their mandibles, and pull them out. There was no blood or anything. I don't even think there were holes left behind. I got down to 2 or 3 of them left in one hand, and had trouble grabbing them because they would bite my finger as i tried to grab their mandibles to pull them out. I started looking around for my hemostats (that is a surgical instrument that stops bleeding by clamping the blood vessel) so i could use those to grab the ants, but before i could do this my alarm woke me.
What could this mean? Does the fact that it was large black carpenter looking ants mean anything? I noticed that i couldn't find any dreams of parasites/bugs mentioning ants...only worms. I'm not afraid of ants...do ants symbolize anything specific? Why just attack my hands and avoid everything else when they were every where? Do these little details mean anything...have any significance or just random nothings..fillers in the dream? Thank you in advance to the person who helps me with the interpretation. ![]() Last edited by gwenith : 03-05-2009 at 12:34 PM. |

If you looking for a meaning I can't give you any as dreams do things in your sleep instead of meaning this or that. My guess is that you were lying on your hand too long and you had pins-and-needles. Your subconscious related the crowling of the insects on your had to the feeling feeling you get with numbness or pins-and-needles. Cheers Wolfjk

I'm sorry but that is not it. I thought about the importance of it just being my hands attacked, and that i am an artist, and also work in a lab; so my hands are very important.
I definitely did not fall asleep on my hands. thank you for ur reply:-) |

Thanks for your reply. If you are an artist, the dream might have psychological implications. If you work in a lab (Hospital lab?) that could also have an effect, However: "I definitely did not fall asleep on my hands."; no one is conscious of what is happening in ones sleep! Dreams make you move about during sleep and only if you are a lucid dreamer can sometimes perceive the movements in sleep. However an observer can see the movements and actions in sleep. The text of your dream suggests that you had a tingling feeling in your hands. Cheers Wolfjk

'Cheers Wolfjk' yes i work in a hospital lab...how could that have an effect? I'm sorry but I know 100% I didn't fall asleep on my hand. i have a heart condition and have to occasionally were a heart monitor for 24 hours...when u sleep with one of these on, you sleep on your back, and it makes it hard to stay asleep for a long period, because of the discomfort. So you see, sleeping on ur back makes it unlikely to sleep on your hands, and waking up every hour or so and seeing your in the same on your back position..and hands are not asleep nor are you laying on them...so yes i know for a fact i wasn't sleeping on them. thank you for your reply tho. |
