Default Another Surgery Dream

I dreamed that I had surgery on my bowel and that I was driving myself home, but a nurse was riding with me. We were riding down a street and it was dark and cloudy. Then I pulled over into a parking lot and got out. I began walking towards a chain link fence. She told me that the doctor would come around to check on me. Next, I went towards the gate and began to open it. Then she asked me if I wanted her to open it and I replied that I was fine and that I didn't hurt. Finally, I waved to her and thanked her for giving me a ride home and then shut the gate.

Hi Mandy,

Actually I don't have any abdominal pains, but my wife has trouble with her bowel. My trouble has to do with severe migraines and pressure points.
Thank you for your concern and I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Smitty

Default doctor dreams

Usually mean that one needs to go see a doctor. i believe it is our bodys way of communicating. Sometimes we need to pay attention and you and your wife are one...

The idea of having had surgery can simply imply that in your mind you could think that someone has done a job on you – given you some emotional stress or strain. As a surgeon’s work is generally supposed to benefit the body, the surgery can suggest that the job done on you was meant to help you get something out of your system, such as negative desires or emotions by expressing them. Yet going under the knife as in surgery, does suggest some domination over your emotional nature. As the surgery was on the bowel, it can indicate that the domination perceived pertains to the subject area of your guts, courage, bravery and audacity. Note that if your wife does have trouble with her bowels, you have a reality factor for the idea that the emotional aspect of yourself (which is represented by a man’s wife)does have a problem in this subject area.

After having had some corrections made to your emotional self via surgery you appear to be using your own rationale or way of thinking to get back to a state of mind with opinions and beliefs you would feel comfortable with (I was driving myself home) You are using the emotional support of a feeling that is of benefit to you.(a nurse was riding with me) Yet, you are following a losing course of action (riding down a street), one without the blessings of the Lord’s Intelligence.(dark)It may be the time and place to give your rationale or logic a rest. (I pulled over into a parking lot and got out)

You could be making progress going on instinct when going for seeing a situation as having two sides. (walking towards a fence)The chain link fence clearly allows you to see that there is another side. When using a feeling that is of benefit to you, you might suggest to yourself that it could be “just what the doctor ordered” to put a check, or some restraint, on yourself. (nurse told me that the doctor would come around to check on me)

Opening the gate would imply that your mind has seen the possibility or option of changing sides; that changing your point of view has occurred to you. Also here there is no obstacle to changing sides. (the fence has a gate) But – you do not need an option to change sides to be made available by a feeling you have perceived as working in your benefit. (nurse not needed to open the gate)You are not in any emotional pain. (I was fine and that I didn't hurt) You may feel grateful for the emotional support or moral boost a feeling has given you (thanked her for giving me a ride)but you can now waive or forgo it and close off an option to go with it any longer. (then shut the gate – which assumes the nurse is now on a different side from where you now are)

I think I know what you're saying, but I want to make sure. Somebody has caused me emotional distress in the past and I've let that get to me. However, I've seen that I don't have to let that happen, so that's why I'm going through the gate and I don't need the nurse to follow me. Am I right?

Thanks,

Smitty

I would not agree with your understanding here. Try to see the nurse as representing a feeling through which you would see yourself taking care of yourself. {Would thinking that you don’t need to let that happen be such a feeling?} With this feeling, the scene shows you on a losing course of action and “in the dark”; acting without intelligence.

The thing is that while surgery does suggest some emotional domination, most people would say that any surgery was for your own good; that something probably had to be cut out.

Thus after this has been done allowing you to change your point of view (cross to the other side), you no longer need to use a feeling through which you might see yourself taking care of yourself. (you wave or waive, the nurse away.

I know these dreams can be difficult to grasp the real meaning therein, but if you run the dreams imagery a few times in your mind, you will most likely find yourself going the way that it suggested even if you do not completely understand it. Sorry I cannot be more helpful than this.

Well dreams can mean lots of things. Its difficult to tell the meaning of this one.

It could be about you trying to relate to your wifes bowel problems... wondering how to react etc

OR it could be about you. Illness is illness. Bowel disease or whatever... and a dream will swap one illness for another... its a dream about dealing with illness in some way...

------------------------
Many dreams are about your current frame of mind. In some ways they are about your fantasies. We dream about how cool we will be in such and such a situation. In our dreams and fantasies we are Spiderman. Yet dreams are also realistic and will contain cryptic messages showing how we are becoming unrealistic in our thoughts. We allow ourselves to get carried away with how things will improve. In truth we are merely motivating ourselves. If we achieve half of what we want in our dreams then we are doing well. If you have been lying awake in bed and thinking about the day to come then that fantasy may appear in your dreams. The connection may not be obvious but it’s definitely there.

Generally an upbeat dream is likely to be about the future and how we are trying to get ourselves into the right frame of mind to tackle the problems and sitations in our lives.
