Default Bear

Last night I had a pretty silly dream that I had a Bear as a close friend. He was walking around on two feet and basically letting me talk to him like my dog, he even gave me a hug! When I was a kid one of my biggest fears was of bears and this makes the dream even funnier. Any ideas?

Hi,

Bear is interpreted as a thief , silly rival or enemy. If dreamt was sitting on a bear means he will receive some abjectness by the governor. If dreamt he killed the bear means he will overcome the rival or enemy. If dreamt ate some bear meat or had a bear skin with him means he will receive a fear.If dreamt hunted a female bear means will marry an unlucky silly woman. If dreamt a bear came into his house means an unlucky silly person will come there. If dreamt he killed a bear or was riding a bear means he will overcome the enemy.

Well its impossible for me to tell you what your dream means. A dream is like a poem and it all appeals to us on different levels. But I could guess.

Normally a dream will link in with recent events and thoughts. Think of how you talk to your dog. What comes to mind recently about talking to bear... who did you want to talk to like it was your dog.

------------------------
Many dreams seem magical and totally divorced from reality. Yet remember that dreams are about your mind. They symbolise how you see the real life challenges in your life. Dreams contain bizarre images such as mad dogs, vampires and dragons. Yet in reality we see our own struggles in rich and fantastical ways. So when you pick up a sword try to see that as an expression of your own assertiveness. Then compare that to the real life struggles in life where you have shown that self same wish to take on the demons and dragons in your own life. See how the dream represents your own fantasies and paranoia's. What thoughts were keeping you awake before the dream? What challenges were you thinking about concerning the day to come? Just try to interpret a dream in simple terms. A huge long dream may simple be reduced to one simple quote such as "In the dream I saw a monster and fought with it". Then compare this to real life. Simply ask what the monster is and how does the battle represent your own thoughts and motivations.

These pages are especially helpful in showing you how to interpret dreams

what kind of bear was it?
I've had many bear dreams, they are always grizzly bears and im usually terrified of them, but i dont think it represents a thief, i was always told that it represented authority, truth, power, and i was also told never to **** with the bear.
peace

Hi,
Bears, like some people are unpredictable!
This "silly" dream had a serious purpose behind it! When something happens in your sleep that may require you to be woken up very quickly, the subconscious often intruduces a threatening figure into the dream! This bears behaviour was closely folloving how you felt in your sleep. Whil you were feeling OK the bear was friendly, however si your state of health would have worsened, the bear would have turned nasty, and if you needed to be woken it would have attacked you!
The likely cause of this dream was that you were feeling nauseus or sick with a possibility of throwing up. However you would not have been aware of your condition - you were asleep. Your dreams are your guardian angel while you sleep.
Cheers Wolfjk

A bear depicted in a dream can be a bit difficult at times to affix the proper meaning. In your dream it is a piece of cake.

By the way your comment about your early feelings about bears is important at allowing the proper meaning to be used.

First of all, there is a protocal that the subconscious mind uses when selecting the most important subject that needs to be dealt with (for the benefit of the dreamer). The very first on the list is dealing with fears...resolving fears. While it has been a while since you were at the kid stage of being afraid or bears the early fear or negative connotation does stay with you. This is true of all of us, until we deal with uncertainty and fear it remains in a negative category (even if the fear has been somewhat diminished in waking life).

As for you, the subconscious mind casts a character type, in your dream, that you once feared, in order to buffer that discomfort...to bring you up to speed so to speak with the fact that the symbol alone, bear, is not all bad. It shows that you can find comfort in cuddling, and hanging out. I know that this sounds crazy but through the years while working with thousands and thousands of dreams I have seen small snippets of dreams that try to realign the dreamers (take) on certain universal symbols so as to sort of bring them into the same world as others. Simply put, your dream allows you to deal with an early fear and then the subconscious mind can sort of place it on the shelf.
Small acknowledgments and alignments are constants in dreams. They help to form our (psyche) into a person who acts and understands like the majority of our species...allowing us to more or less be on the same plane (within reason). I am not saying that we are all robots and were are made to be alike. We do retain our individuality, and at the same time loose fears and concerns that tend "waste our emotions".

Perhaps you were in serious need of a "bear hug" and your dream obliged you! Sometimes, we do pick up common phrases like "bear hug" and turn them into imagery in our dreams.
