I dreamt that a man (no-one I know) had to murder his wife in order to complete a ritual and be raised to a position of high esteem in ancient Greece (possibly ancient Rome, but I had a strong feeling it was Greece). He was a young man, and his wife was young also, possibly still minors (sixteen, seventeen, eighteen perhaps). After the murder, the man was taken to a stadium where he sat between the king and members of the royal family, and a celebration honoring him was held there in the stadium. He sat expressionless.
The wife, after being killed, "woke up" in Heaven and asked "Is it time for lunch?", to which the answer from the gods was "Yes". Any thoughts? |

Hi,
it is hard to tell what this dream might mean. It could be a past life dream. Such dreams really occur, and indicate that we indeed possess an immortal soul, incarnate again on Earth etc.. So this could refer to a past life trauma. It could also mean something symbolic, but then it depends upon your current life circumstances. From a symbolic point of view, you could be the person that is requested to "murder" your "wife" so to speak. The "wife" here could represent your feminine, more softer aspects of your personality, mercy, compassion and such things. So the dream might tell you that you are in a situation where, if you want to ascend in the social order, you have to do something which would "murder", i.e. repress your more pasive and receptive qualities. The fact that this all take place in Anchient Greece then could mean that here patterns of beheaviour are played out which are very anchient. Instead of Zeus or a Greek King it might be your boss who wants you to do certain things etc.. These are two possibile interpretations I could think of. Does one or both of them make sense? Good luck Hermes |
