Default Burried Alive

I know this is probably the most common dream out there, But Ive always wanted to know what it ment. When I was younger, around the age of 4 or , I had the same dream every night. Well, maybe not the exact same dream. But close enough. I used to have dreams that I woke up in a coffin, and i could see outside the coffin. Everytime, I would scream Im not dead and Get me out of here over and over again. I would scream at the top of my lungs but no one would help me. I had three diffrent dreams of this. One of them was that it was raining outside and there were people standing outside dressed in black. Another one would be that it was dark outside and grown people would be laughing. The last one was that there would be no one there. It would just be me in the coffin, and it lowering itself. The setting was always the same though. It would always be an opening in a place with lots of trees and everything was green. I dont know if it was me or if it was hereditary though because my mom said she used to have those dreams too. But I had those same dreams everynight for about three years.

probably means you were a real stressed out 4 year old. maybe feeling buried and ignored by grown ups.

such recurring dreams apply to your circumstances and feelings around the time of the dreams. if you had this dream again you could relate it to something specific.

Dreams of this sort, in children...often show that they are feeling alone (separation anxiety). Sometimes these dreams manifest after a sibling is born and the dreamer is no longer feeling important enough to get the loving reactions and same degree of attention from parents etc.

As well, and as a result, (in real waking life), the child acts in a way that elicits negative attention (and the response of those around them is negative) thus complicating the feelings and emotions.... The dreamer feels not only abandoned but also that he has (sealed his own fate) caused the abandonment (symbolized by the casket being sealed, and he is alone with no response, even when he has reached out for attention....)
You get the point I am sure.

Yep - I agree with weiss. Stressed out 4 year old. If you had a diary of how you felt it would probably link to our own main stresses at the time. maybe you were sent to bed early, maybe you were ignored? What situation would make y0ou feel as if you were buried? Its amazuing the mind of a child. They see violence and terrible things everywhere... but in real life they probsably just had the normal day to day worries.. and constraints

Hi,
At that age the fear of abandonment is very real. However the dreams vere probably caused by some physical discomfort. The most common cause of night terrors in children are food allergies. Many children are allergic to milk products and sweet stuff. They often feel sick and need to vomit. Many medics think they vomit because of the night terrors. Actually it is the other way round; they have the nightmares because of feeling sick.
Their subconscious uses the fear of abandonment or the fear of being alone as waking agents.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
Dreams of immatured children is about their parents and girls is about their mother.
Being in a coffin or a grave yelling I'm alive may mean short of money at that time for your mother or living in a tight place.

Good luck.
