When I do remember my dreams lots of times there are tornados in them. Most of the time I see the tornados or are even right next to them. Last night's dream there was a tornado coming, the wind picked up, but it never really came this time. Me and a bunch of people were hunkering down underneath an old bridge. When I looked over to my right at a column a capital M appeared in the ground like someone had just dug it in there, just a few inches deep, perfectly. Then it began to fill with water and stopped when it got to the top. I remember going over to it and I knew it was for me and said it out loud. Then I looked up and asked what happened to the tornado. Everyone said it went another way and wasn't going to hit. I was confused because the wind was so strong, but then just seemed to die when I saw the letter. I'm not very good at interpreting dreams. Any ideas?

Well dreams tend to be about two things. Something that has just happened... some strong feeling or thought that went through your head yesterday. They can also be about the day to come.
Try to see yourself what the dream could symbolize. Its not that difficult. Its either about something that has just happened or is about to happen. What COULD a TORNADO symbolise... they tend to link to things like stress. Or perhaps to someone who causes stress... a person with a bad temper or who is quite boisterous... children have been known to be linked to tornado dreams. The dream links to a thought you have had. an assessment... you are seeing the problem as not as bad as you expected it to be. Dreams can even link to puns. A letter M could simply be a play on words... say for instance that you had read a letter the day before and realised that things were not quite as bad as you thought then that could easily have caused the dream. I try to build conceptual ideas from dreams. They link to ideas... feelings.. so if thats what the dream meant then you could say that the dream was linked to how the mind expresses the following idea "I was really stressed out and tired about this. Then when I got the letter I realised that it was not as bad as I had thought" But of course that could easily be a misinterpretetation... dreams can mean lots of things. Only the dreamer can truly interpret a dream ------------------ One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions. During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten. During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.
