Exclamation Usually I can handle it, but this is getting too extreme

Hi,
I'm a frequent lucid dreamer. I've been experiencing dreams since I was a child and I've began to regard a lot of my dreams as premonitions. Why? Because there is always something in my dream that I see later on in life. Sometimes a person, often a place, and more frequently a situation and dialogue. I interpret them as best I can and move on. However this particular dream has been bothering me for a few years now. The dream differs but the situation is the same.

DREAM:
I'm dreaming of a place and I see people. Everyone is doing their own thing. I am aware that I am dreaming so I just observe the situations as not to disturb the vision. All of a sudden the dream goes dark; as if fading away like a burning picture. Then across from me there is a man watching me. He is wearing a hat and I can't quite make out his face. I begin to wake myself up. I can see myself about to lie down into my body and then the man appears. He is on top of me choking the life from me. I'm fighting him off of me and then he fades away into the dark. When I push him away from me, I can see his face so clearly that I could sketch it. I've never seen him before. When I woke up there were bruises around my throat.
The second time I had the dream, I was in a park. When I saw the dark figure, I tried to run. I jumped to three different dreams and finally returned again to my body and just before I returned to wake myself, he grabbed me mid air by the throat. My fiance woke me up but I could see him struggling to wake me as the man held me by the throat. Finally I kicked him and woke up. When I awakened, hysterically, I found more prints on my throat.

Usually I do not eat before bed as I have acid reflux. I don't watch scary movies except in the day, and they don't really bother me. I do not have dreams where pain is inflicted on me to this degree; usually a normal wound like a cut or something. I've thought about this but I have yet to find an answer.

Hi,
When you find bruises, cuts or scratches on your body after a sleep you can be absolutely certain it was made by you! The sleeper is conscious of only a small part of the dreams he or she has during a sleep.
You may thrash about in bed, toss and turn, kick, shout or speak and you remember non of it at waking. I had a lot of experience watching people sleep, been told fantastic storys by the sleepers that were completely untrue imaginations created by the sleepers subconscious.

Acid reflux can happen 6 or 8 hours after the food is eaten. Smetimes a small amount of digestive juice is deposited in the throat and causes burning. My guess is that you have something irritating your thrat while you sleep and you grab your neck in your sleep.
Have a talk to your doctor. Indigestion problems can easilybe solved by a course of antibiotics.
Cheers Wolfjk

Default About your dream I would suggest somethin

I have very similar dreams myself I used to get freaked out of my mind... It was put in my heart to battle, When I had the next dream I battled the dark figure within my dreams spouting scriptures to be honest and I only had 2-3 more dreams like that since but I was in complete control of the dark figure making him cower and give me information on why he was doing it I suggest that you may try and take the same route maybe it will help

Good luck!

situations like that excite me because if I were ever in a dream like that I usually like to go crazy and fight it out :P. Feel free to even use your lucidity to your advantage by shooting fire out of your hands or something of the sort

Hi,

If one dreamt someone suffocated or choked him means he/she will receive some livelihood and a good life.
Some interpreters say he may have a sorrow.

Dreaming about a young woman for men means a happiness and achieving a wish is on the way ,**8 this is the same for women about dreaming a man.
The happiness will be as much as the woman ( or man ) will be beautiful and thick.
An old woman means the material world. The best is that the woman or man ( for women) was not known and was of a nice figure, that will mean an opening in the life.
An ugly, thin woman means a short of money and famine , a happy woman ( or a man for ladies) with make up means achieving a wish and an ugly dirty old woman means a bad situation and not achieving a wish.

Hello Cstar,
I know exactly what you are going though and sympathise completely.

You say you are lucid – out of interest do you find you are in a place and then become lucid or do you find yourself lucid and travel somewhere? I'd be interested to know.

I was attacked for a long while in my sleep. I won't put it all here as it would be too long an account. But you can get rid of this yourself. If you are lucid you should find you can do it. First have no fear. Fear feeds fear. Surround yourself in a bright light. A strong protective light. Tell this being to GET OUT. (Say it loudly in your head. Don't try to talk with your mouth as you will have one of those moments where you are trying to shout but nothing comes out). Say 'Get out of my dream, I didn't invite you.' Tell it you are not scared and demand that it leaves. Keep saying this over and over until it leaves. Keep shining bright. You can also imagine light coming from your hands. Most importantly stand your ground and have no fear. If you are a lucid dreamer, you should be able to remember to do this next time.

Don't try to physically fight….it doesn't work. It just generates more fear. I honestly know what you are going through, because this is what brought me to this forum in the first place.

Good luck and let me know if you manage to get rid of it.

idgy
