This happened a while ago and I sent it in to a person who never got around to answering the question, so please take the time to read and give me any info or knowledge you might have!
I am curious about a dream I had. The day before the dream, I attended a seder dinner to bus tables and serve food with my friend. My friend and I are not Jewish. This was my first experience at a temple witnessing the rite of passover. With all due respect, my friend and I found humor in some of the procedings. We shared a few laughs privately, of course, as the ritual seemed so strange to us. The following morning, I had a dream that I believe was related to the previous evening, and I am feeling guilty about having found humor in the ceremony. Here is the dream: I was with my friend and her mother who i went to the temple with to share the job of serving. In the dream, we were leaving the temple and my friend's mom wanted to show us her childhood school which in the dream was across from the temple. I woke up after that, and then fell back asleep and the dream continued. I was sitting with the same friend, a neighbor, and my neighbor's friend. My neighbor's friend was rewarded a scholarship to a college. The scholarship was given to her with a drawing of the college's food court enclosed. The scholarship money was represented by a series of gold and silver coins. Then my friend and I went into what I believe was a dormatory. We were putting stickers of our favorite singer on a huge hard-plastic makeshift bed. Soon, a door connected to the outside opened and a young girl walked into the door. She seemed to be either a young college student or a senior in highschool. Her hair was up in a high messy bun and she was rather skinny. I made my friend aware of the girl walking in. My friend looked at the girl but resumed putting stickers on the bed. Soon, the girl walked over to my friend's side of the bed and stood there with both hands behind her on the nape of her neck. I was uncomfortable with her presence and was waiting for my friend to react, which she never did. The girl started talking in either rushed English or another language. I soon felt myself not being able to open my eyes. I also felt this in real life at the same time. This makes me believe I was in the "twilight" state of sleep. I could hear her words in the dream and gradually started waking up, hearing them outside the dream as well. I made out only five English words in her speech. They were :"you would allow me to" After saying those words, she continued talking in unintelligable speech. I was only able to open my eyes as soon as her talking ceased. This speech only lasted a few seconds but her tone was rushed, stern, and commanding. However, I had the feeling she was speaking for someone else. She punctuated her last syllable and I could hear it clearly as I opened my eyes. When I opened my eyes and was fully awake, I immediately looked to the part of my room that corresponded with where the girl was in my dream. I did not see her, but felt like I was expectant to see her there. I felt uneasy and slightly frightened. I also felt slightly vulnerable. Since I was scared and the only words I could make out were "you would allow me to", I said in my head, "No, I won't allow you to." I said this because I did not want a potentially malicious spirit to continue visiting me. I don't know what this means, but I have a feeling the girl was repromanding me about laughing at the ceremony. If you could tell me what you think about this event, I would appreciate it very much. |

Hi devon,
If you felt guilty about mocking the religious rites, your thoughts about it would have impacted on your sleep. Your subconscious created this dream to divert you from your guily thoughts so you could have a good nights sleep. At the eend of your sleep the subconscious woke you with the half understood phraze: "you would allow me to" and the jumbled speach. My guess is that you had an uneasy nights sleep. You need not worry about the girl or your feeling of apprehension. It is the creation of your own subconscious. Cheers Wolfjk

Hello Devon,
I will use a technique that looks at dreams a line or a few lines at a time. My comments will be in blue. Here we go...This happened a while ago and I sent it in to a person who never got around to answering the question, so please take the time to read and give me any info or knowledge you might have! I am curious about a dream I had. The day before the dream, I attended a seder dinner to bus tables and serve food with my friend. My friend and I are not Jewish. This was my first experience at a temple witnessing the rite of passover. With all due respect, my friend and I found humor in some of the procedings. We shared a few laughs privately, of course, as the ritual seemed so strange to us.Yes, I completely understand how different cultures and religions can seem so very strange. It is also strange but completely human nature to make fun of things that we do not understand (at least when were are young and immature). Still there is much knowledge that is gained through witnessing such events. This knowledge often later turns into gaining better understanding and respect for those things that you do not fully understand. The following morning, I had a dream that I believe was related to the previous evening, and I am feeling guilty about having found humor in the ceremony. Here is the dream:Yes, guilt is part of the process in the "self" knowing that what you did to make fun was not quite right. The subconscious mind does not only collect data it stores certain data so that resolution can be achieved before it is permanately filed away. This is part of the process by which we learn from our mistakes. They are corrected or at least commented upon and then filed away and become part of you. These awareness' form the person that we become... I was with my friend and her mother who i went to the temple with to share the job of serving. In the dream, we were leaving the temple and my friend's mom wanted to show us her childhood school which in the dream was across from the temple.Yes this part of the dream is architecture (saying that what is to follow will be food for thought), My guess is that your guilt feelings likely jostled you (made you feel a bit uncomfortable and caused you to wake). You resettled in and continued your dream. I woke up after that, and then fell back asleep and the dream continued. I was sitting with the same friend, a neighbor, and my neighbor's friend. My neighbor's friend was rewarded a scholarship to a college.Showing that you are in the process of have already gained valuable knowledge from this event celebrated in the Jewish faith. The scholarship was given to her with a drawing of the college's food court enclosed. The scholarship money was represented by a series of gold and silver coins.Stating that you have learned a valuable lesson. This role player in your dream is what is called a dream guide. I know, that title is a bit strange, nevertheless here is a brief description of the purpose of this role player. She represents the subconscious minds intent in your dream and her job it to obtain the attention of the dreamer and maintain his or her focus for the purpose of getting the intended message across. Placing hands at the nape of the neck shows that what once occurred in waking life is now being being brought to mind (bridging the gap from what was a physical happening and now it will make sense of it all and put it to rest. I soon felt myself not being able to open my eyes. I also felt this in real life at the same time.Part of what is called dream paralysis (state of mind somewhere between sleep and waking) This makes me believe I was in the "twilight" state of sleep.yes. I could hear her words in the dream and gradually started waking up, hearing them outside the dream as well. I made out only five English words in her speech. They were :"you would allow me to" After saying those words, she continued talking in unintelligable speech.THis is very interesting to me how powerful this statement becomes...This is the very beginning of resolution of healing that you are encountering courtesy of your subconscious mind so that you will not continue to feel guilt nor would you be allowed to keep this point of view (the immature frame of mind I mentioned at the beginning of my evaluation. You are forever changed and able to accept what you encountered (the passover celebration), and see it in a different way. The unintelligible speech that you do not remember is the actual resolution that your subconscious mind allowed. This is a gift because it allows you to put in to perspective, that the behavior that you were feeling guilty was not something done out of hate etc. Now you have gained a bit of reverence for something that you likely still do not fully understand...but you recognize it for what it was. I was only able to open my eyes as soon as her talking ceased.Yes, this is common. We are not privy to all intracasies (spelling) or workings of the mind but we know that quite a bit goes on behind the scenes. These behind the scenes processes allow us balance, and valuable perspective to be gained. This speech only lasted a few seconds but her tone was rushed, stern, and commanding. However, I had the feeling she was speaking for someone else. She punctuated her last syllable and I could hear it clearly as I opened my eyes.Again pretty common, at least I have seen this before in several dreams that I have worked. The last word was so heavily emphasized, I remember one dreamer saying that it almost made her fall out of bed. This also is a technique that is used in situations where the subconscious mind repremands the dreamer. When I opened my eyes and was fully awake, I immediately looked to the part of my room that corresponded with where the girl was in my dream. I did not see her, but felt like I was expectant to see her there. I felt uneasy and slightly frightened. I also felt slightly vulnerable.Like I was saying, this dream is healing but it does take on a harsh edge sometimes. I believe that you were getting a bit of both. This dream more or less was a once and for all way to deal with the discomfort that your behavior allowed you to feel. It is time to go forward and remember the lesson learned. One more comment, especially in areas that relate with The Creator, and or holy beliefs (even when the dreamer may not be of that religion) the mind is less patient with irreverence. I have read works by many of the greats, that express the belief that the subconscious mind has direct links with the spiritual (superconscious mind) and irreverence will not be tolerated. I think you have become much more aware as a result of the experience you had at the Passover Celebration. Peace, Sailrmc By the way, I am not Jewish but I have worked with many dreams that relate to many diverse religions and beliefs. When spiritual issues are at the forefront the subconscious mind sort of takes a more serious approach and the dreamer typically gets a bit of new insight. Since I was scared and the only words I could make out were "you would allow me to", I said in my head, "No, I won't allow you to." I said this because I did not want a potentially malicious spirit to continue visiting me.You get it! I don't know what this means, but I have a feeling the girl was repromanding me about laughing at the ceremony.Well I suppose that I should have read ahead... so yes! Repremand but resolution to be sure!! If you could tell me what you think about this event, I would appreciate it very much. |
