Reoccurring dream of birthing boy and girl twins - girl disappears or dies?

I gave birth to my little man a little over a month ago and I keep having this reoccurring dream in which I actually have given birth to twins.

The twins are a boy and a girl. I've had two different versions of the dream. In one they tell me in the hospital that the girl has died and I never even get to see her. In the more recent version of the dream I actually carry on about my life thinking I only had the boy and later discover pictures of the twins together. Again I never actually "see" her in person, but after seeing the picture I just know that I "lost" her. However, this time it's more ambiguous because I don't know what really happened to her, if she died or if I gave her away.

In both dreams are extremely emotional and I cry inconsolably while everyone else around me just seems to sort of brush it off. I've had it over and over for at least five or seven times now and I wake up extremely disturbed. It has really started to bother me - any ideas of what this means?

Gosh. This may not be helpful to you, but I thought I'd share just in case.

When my friend was pregnant, she was absolutely sure she was having a boy. However, when she found it she was going to have a girl, she had all these disturbing nightmares about her baby (always a boy) dying before birth or during birth, similarly no one seemed concerned! These dreams continued for a short time after she had her baby girl. And then they stopped suddenly. I think for my friend, she had a hard time processing the fact that she was having a girl and not a boy. I'm not sure why.

Sorry if this story wasn't helpful. I know how annoying an irrelavent story can be. It just seemed oddly similar.

Hi,
Your dreams could be the signs of baby blues, or in clinical language - post natal depression. The fact that you often cry in your dream confirm this. It is probably something to do with hormon changes after having a baby. Your husband and family should help you get over it. Sometimes there is medical help also available. However the best help is you knowing what is causing your dreams.
Im sure the dreams will get less frequent now, or cease alltogether.
When you lookat your dreams objectively, you wiil recognise the emotional overload having a baby causes in a familly. As well as loving your "little man" you also thinking about having another baby.
