Hi
Last night I had a dream about first of all another man, other than my husband, that I seemed to very happy with and close to, he was someone that I use to work with a long time ago, and that I had a crush on, in my dream we went on a deep sea fishing trip to catch marlin, and then I remember sitting at the front of the boat and my son was with me and sitting on my lap and this one dolphin was trying to pull my son in the water and I remember touching it on the nose, it did not bite me, but I remember seeing its teeth, I also remember after waking up this morning after this dream, feeling good about it.....don't know what this means? |

Well dolphins often symbolize a strong healthy relationship where you can connect and communicate very well. So try to see how that particular theme seems relevant right now.
Do you wish you could communicate more with your husband? Did you talk to someone who was having a much healthier relationship with their husband? Or say watch a film where someone was acting in the way an ideal husband and father would act? Dreams link to how thoughts are floating around your mind. What was floating through your mind the day before this ----------------------------- The father of modern dream interpretation is not Freud or Jung but rather Jon Winson. But he never made a single dream interpretation. Instead he conducted research into the mind and established that certain brainwaves (theta waves) only appear during the night time. During the day we store up all new experiences and feelings in short term memory. Then at night we start to work through what happened the previous day and we integrate these into long term memory blocks. Then finally we clear short term memory blocks ready to start the process again the next day. Its likely that any dreams we have are linked to these brain functions. The weird images and feelings once deciphered capture our own feelings and new insights into the world around us. So the dreams then will often link to specific events from the day before and to new ways in which our world has been reshaped. It may simply link to our paranoias and fantasies. If we are focused on something about to happen in the near future then the dreams may link to that. Each dream captures one specific feeling or thought process. Your dream symbolically brings to consciousness, attributes that you are attracted to in men.
It starts with the basic model of a man that you find attractive (it has selected someone from your past). The subconscious observes ever detail that we encounter in our waking life as well as how we feel about them. It has selected this man that you dream of because he was attractive to you in many ways. So, the dream is saying that your ideal man is self sufficient, confident, communicative, strong, aggressive yet not one to inflict pain on others, smart, and insightful. Now I am not Freudian in any way but considering what Freud would have thought, the Dolphin represents a sexual aspect of the male. Translating this in, one could say that all the attributes I have already mentioned make this type of guy sexy to you. Going a step forward, your thought process shows that it is in your hopes that your son becomes this kind of guy! This is a great dream! Dreams bring awareness as part of their process and this one is no exception. Your thoughts?? sailrmc |

I think your dream is about your son growing up. The boat is realm that you have some control of and where you have helpful, protective people around. The dolphin represents everything out there in the rest of the big world that you can't see that tries to pull your son into the world away from you. You did a great job helping your son to stay in the boat. It was easy for you, but the danger was real and no one got hurt. I'd feel good about this dream, too.
I think the other man was just a little fantasy action that invaded this dream. |

A dream set in water tends to be about your spirituality.
You are a boat...ie a spiritual vescle. You are a dolphin....ie a spiritual animal and you are a deep sea diving man...as above. The Dolphin is a mamal that breaths air but lives under water, it has a foot(flipper) in each world and so represents mediumistic ability, this is further emphasised by dolphins being very conscious and being able to communicate in an invisible way. Being at the top of the boat suggests you would be a top medium. Your son represents you at that age not developing the mediumistic ability and the dream is now telling you to immerse that part of you which needs to grow into the spiritual world (water), you even have the ability to make money from it (animals assert their right to life through tooth and claw, thus it can represent career, ambition and drive). Your lover in the dream is a guide getting in close asking you to immerse yourself deeply in spirit. Guides often get VERY close to help us intergrate their guidance. ![]() |
