Hi
This is my first post I had a weird dream last night. I was in a house, sitting on a mat by a fire. There were people near me, but they are fuzzy. There was a woman? behind me, who was putting me into a trance, but I felt safe. I was in the trance for a while, and then I was making animal noises. The person who put into the trance said BEAR, and this was very significant in the dream. I have no idea what this means, and have never had a dream like this before. Can you offer any ideas?! Thanks Sarah xXx |

Bears can symbolize bear like attitudes.. stubbornness and grumpiness?
How did such emotions seem relevant yesterday? Often dreams can link to issues and thoughts from the day before ------------------------ To understand the dream mind you need to understand neural networks. Neural networks store up information by comparing one thing to another. They store moments when you felt similar. For instance one time you may feel extremely exhausted after you finished some exams. So when you have a dream it may point to this event as a way of expressing how you feel about some current event. Put simply a dream therefor says "I felt tired yesterday after completing the work tasks. I was really as tired as I was after I finished my exams last year". So a dream really express our feelings by pointing to a series of unrelated metaphors. Dreams tend to build up a meaning using a series of metaphors. So a dream may feature you "feeling tired", "feeling confused doing a puzzle" and finally "getting drunk". So the dream mind is actually building up a set of feelings by pointing to a series of feelings you felt previously. These seemingly unrelated events and feelings may simply be pointing to the previous day when "I felt tired yesterday at work. I steadily getting more confused. By the end of the day I was totally incapable of making any rational judgements". So in that way getting drunk expresses how you felt INCAPABLE at work the previous day. Its in this way that metaphors build up a dreams meaning. But the dream mind is refering to these almost like a list such as "felt as tired as I was during the exams", "felt very confused" and "I was aiming for a target".
