Unhappy My dog dying

There was a beginning to my dream that I can't recall but here is the rest if it:

There was a family party at my parents house (where I will soon be living briefly) and all of my family and in-laws where there. There were only two people who's faces were clear, but I was aware of the rest of the family. I was having "one of those days" where I kept dropping things, forgetting things, etc.

I was standing in at a table with snack and I filled a plastic cup with some snack that was in a bowl, like a chex mix or something. As I went to walk through a doorway I kinda of tripped and sent the snack from the cup flying everywhere. I had a feeling of frustration.

At that point my mother-in-law (with whom I get along with fairly well) starting yelling and screaming at me. I don't remember exact words but it was to the affect of how I kept messing everything up. In the dream she resembled a boss that I recently had who treated me very demeaningly. For a moment in the dream I was actually confused as to weither or not my mother-in-law WAS my former boss.

I let her finish yelling and then I started to yell right back at her. Again I don't remember the actual argument. The significance is that I am not the type of person to yell at others, even when it is deserved. But I was really screaming at her and swearing and being very harsh.

The next thing I know I was in the front yard in the driveway with my mother and we were playing with the family dog, patches, who is a dalmation. My mom was showing my how to throw these toys that she had so patches would go get them and bring them back to her.

I tried to throw it once and was unable to. So i tried a second time and I threw the toy very high and far and the dog went after it. (In our front yard we have a very long drive way and we have a street lamp. The street lamp is the same kind that they have along the highways). The toy went was going over the top of the street lamp and the dog managed to jump over the street lamp (which would be impossible because it is about 100ft tall). Instead of catching the toy she hit the top of the street lamp. As she fell it looked as if her body had been cut in half, one part went one way, and another the other way. We ran to her and it had been her leg that had been removed from the rest of her body. The dog was no longer my mother's current dog, but my childhood dog who died many years ago. This did not seem odd to us in the dream.

I screamed that we had to get the dog to the emergency vet clinic. We picked her up and ran towards the vehicles. At some point I grabbed some sort of large cloth to try to stop her bleeding. We used my mother-in-laws van. I jumped in the back seat and my mother put the dog in the back with me, she was on my lap. As my mother was driving I was trying to find where the blood was coming from so I could try to stop the bleeding. But the blood was everywhere. Both the dog and me were covered in it and I couldn't figure out where the blood was coming from because everytime I tried to wipe an area there was just more blood. I remember being fairly certain that the dog was already dead.

And that was the end of the dream. And help would be extremely appreciated as this dream had me pretty shaken up when I awoke. Thanks in advance!

Well its got to link in some way with resentments. Your boss who treated you badly and your mom in law. This has been eating away at you. Most dreams link in some way to the day before. They represent new thoughts and feelings. How was this type of resentment eating away at you yesterday?

Were thoughts going through your mind.. little paranoias. One thing is that your mom in laws pet is always going to be innocent. so maybe its a dream about you needing to treat people fairly. You let resentments get the better of you. Maybe you do something which is petty ... yet have now realized that its pointless blaming others who seem connected in a way.. because they are blindly linked to your mom in law.. who in the dream was treating you badly.

------------------------
The dreams we have are very much related to the brain and how it devotes time to the pressing needs in our lives. The dream mind can decide to try to look at the bigger picture. In other words we may suddenly stand back and take a good long look at our lives. We may ask what is the point of carrying on with a job that we hate or a relationship that is falling apart. So in that way the intuitive mind may decide to take an objective look at the reality of our lives.

At other times the dream mind will be content to get caught up in the little issues in our lives. It may wonder if we should get ourselves a new hair cut or if we should decide to get a new digital TV. So the dreams we have will sometimes reflect the bigger and important long view but also expect them to get caught up in the seemingly mundane issues of everyday life.

Try to see what type of a mood you are in. If you suddenly feel as if you are thinking more in the long term then look at your dreams in that way. They are likely to link to general issues and about the bigger picture and how you live your life. They may reflect your own personality and some changes that you are trying to bring about.
