Default Two dreams... one happy, one horrid.

I had two dreams last night.

In the first one, I was shopping with a friend of mine in a local mall. As we were passing one store, we saw another friend of ours (he moved, so we don't ever get to see him), and when we saw him, we dropped our bags and ran to him. He squealed, we were happy, and we gave him a hug. Then, that was the end of the dream.

In my second dream, I was with my dad in a parking lot, and we heard a police siren. So we turned toward the street, and a guy in a yellow truck was driving by, and he had a gun. For some reason, we just kind of shrugged it off. We went inside the building, and the next thing I remember is being outside of the building, and looking across the street at an apartment complex, and we saw the crazy gun guy in his apartment. A lady told us to hide in her apartment, which was on the same floor as the crazy guy's house, but we went in anyway. After that, I can't remember what happened, but then I remember being back inside the first building, and the crazy gun guy had me locked inside... there was a rope hanging from the ceiling. He said something about a volcano erupting (funny that should happen... I live nowhere near any volcanoes), and he told me I had to open the doors to let the magma seep into the building... so I did that, and it seeped pretty slowly into the building. The next thing I remember after that is being in a foresty area with a bulldog, and I traded the bulldog for a beagle... and that was it.

When you have a dream its important to make associations. Often dreams will link to something but give no obvious clues. This is a difficult process. I can only tell you what I associate with the dream

Personally there seems a lot of sexual imagery there. It uses the word seeping... its a kind of raw sexual word. The volcano could also be a symbol for sexual pleasure. The dream could be about you feeling the need to relax. Also the bulldog turning into a beagle could symbolize a sexual partner feeling relaxed after sex. Dreams capture our insights into things that have just happened.

Might be way off the mark with that one. Feel free to accuse me of being dirty minded...lol

In order to understand dreams you need to understand neural networks. Neural networks are how the brain stores important information. The dream mind connects to something happening in your life by comparing it to something esle that has previously happened. Inreal life you may feel tired. So a dream connects to that event by comparing it to an event where you felt the same sensations. So your dream mind is saying "I felt as tired as I did when I was moving house".

Well, I was thinking about the dream some more, and the magma/volcano thing. We've been learning about volcanoes in school, haha. And I think the bulldog was my friend's dog, and I have a dog that is part beagle, so it makes sense that I traded the bulldog for the beagle (beagles are so cute!)

Well thats an association you make. Your association are likely to be more accurate. Maybe its about your wish to trade the lessons about volcanoes for something a little more cuter and interesting.

I know interpreting dreams is not easy. They can link to pretty random things in life. Just little real life things that are interesting to you.

------------------------
Dream interpreting is not an easy task. In some ways its like trying to work out what subject inspired someone’s poem by studying the metaphors within it. It can be done though. But you only achieve any level of success when you interpret your own dreams.

Generally dreams are very much in the present day. They will often represent specific thoughts either as we look back to the previous day or as we focus on the day to come. So a snake for example symbolises something bad and in the context of a dream analysis will generally point to some problem or trap either that you nearly fell into yesterday or that you worry about in the near future. But either way there are not that many problems and traps and difficult situations from yesterday. Usually you will be able to highlight one thing.

So try to look at dreams simply. A good dream will show your happy state of mind and so thats really not that difficult to trace.

Yeah, I've noticed that quite a few of my dreams have actually related to my life, but I still ask about it anyway (I want to get every opinion I can before I decide: THIS is why I had that dream). Thanks for taking the time
