Question Incoming black clouds

Could use some insight to interpret a vivid dream I had last night.

I was in the den in my home on the couch next to my husband (who is on couch using his laptop). I look outside my window and see fast moving incoming black clouds within bright clouds. I repeatedly tell my husband to look outside and he ignores me. That's the extent of the dream.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
The dream draws on a simple domestic issue of one partner ignoring the other!
Your husband ignoring you because he is concentrating on his laptop, and you ignoring your husbands desire to do his computer stuff! Your subconscious uses your annoyance with him to wake you from your sleep. It was a waking dream.
Cheers Wolfjk

Thanks, but I think I was more interested in the fast moving black clouds from the security of being indoors.

By the way, in real life, I don't interrupt my spouse while he is
1) doing work (it provides income to household so I never interfere and he only works from home one day a week)
2) watching tv (sports etc) or playing computer games etc (it's his relaxation from working hard for the family).
3) Typically he doesn't ignore me either

Dreams are often about how you are assessing some situation. Is your husband reacting in the proper and correct way? Have you got bleak thoughts about the future emotionally? Are you worried financially? Do you feel that your husband could be more aware of such feelings inside you?

------------------------
Often one symbol in a dream will seemingly have no relationship to any other. Totally bizarre things happen and there seems to be no sense to the dreams meaning. Thats because some symbols have a very cryptic meaning. A parachute may simply express the need to escape from a very difficult relationship. The need to land safely is a direct comparison to the need to land safely in an emotional sense. Yet within the context of the dream it makes no sense. It seems confusing and funny when we describe a moment when our granny gets hit by a parachutist. But dreams are like that. One portion of the dream makes no real sense within the story of the dream. Yet its meaning is there. The trick is to weave together various symbols. So see how that parachutist links within your own real life thoughts. So if you woke up that morning and felt "Yesterday I started to realise that I need to get out of my relationship with my boyfriend. He is being totally abusive. Right now I just need to escape with as little fuss as possible". Its likely that this dream about a parachutist is directly linked to those real life thoughts. Then start to piece together a wider meaning to the dream. Look at the possible symbolic meanings to the other symbols and try to see what the dream is saying overall.

Good point. I'm currently assessing our situation of our home heated only by oil which we pay more for each year. Even though I pre-buy next years season every Jan which saves us, the prices have jumped. Not really a situation different than everyone else in the world. I would like to use an alternative heat source and get a generator for when electricity goes down. He doesn't agree that this is going to be an ongoing issue or feels that our electricity goes out that often. We differ in opinion only. If I really want to have this accomplished in our home, it's a matter of making a decision of which type of heating source to bring in and buy it. He is in the process of buying extra insulation for the attic.

I do worry about things a lot (always been this way), and he has a more optimistic outlook than me. Even if he doesn't feel the same way as I do in some areas, he supports me.

I will give your ideas some more thought. Thanks to both of you for your insights.

Hi Bonjour,
Come on! admit it! Sometime you do get a bit impatient or annoyed by your husband. That is what the dream indicates. The rushing black clouds are there in the dream to grab your attention and get your brain in gear, however the real waking element in the dream is your reaction to him ignoring you! Colout and light in dreams is always there to raise your level of consciousness.
A Good Day to you! Bonjour
Cheers Wolfjk

Of course! Like all relationships, it has its good and bad days, months or years. Today is our 26th year anniversary and after x amount of years we've grown some wisdom and patience together. If a couple hasn't developed a sense of respect for each other by this time, it's probably doomed for failure or be joyless for the remaining years together.

You may be correct in that there is something in the relationship (or in each of us independently) that needs work, and this dream did catch me off guard. That's why I came here.

Your input has been interesting and thought provoking, and I've actually enjoyed the commentary and interpretation. I even paid more attention to our interactions together yesterday because of it. Thank you for taking time out to reply to me!

Yes

We always look for personal issues to cause dreams. But general financial worries common to us all can cause dreams. But such worries would definitely have to have a personal link. So this specific worry about something could have triggered this dream. Its more about the response of your husband. If you want him to be more aware.

------------------------
Many people write dream diaries. But actually it would be better if they wrote a normal diary. A diary is basically the highlights of the previous day and the things that are important to you. Dreams are exactly the same. Once understood they would symbolize those key moments and turning points in your feelings. So instead of interpreting the dreams try first to guess what the most likely issues are that you would dream about. Think of exactly the same things that you would write in a diary. Once decoded the dreams would symbolize exactly what you think on the key subjects dominating your mind. Think of quotes that capture your feelings such as "my father seems very quiet. I think that something is very wrong. He often starts going quiet when something happens". You may not be able to understand the exact nature of the symbols.
