The other night I dreamt about a co-worker. I was in her office and noticed she wasn't very happy. She said work wanted to get rid of her. Now, this didn't mean getting fired...it meant going to the woods and getting her head chopped off. I see her again before her trip to "the woods". She seems accepting of her situation. The next time I see her, her body is bing dragged to a trash can and she is wrapped in a sheet of plastic...HOWEVER, her head is still attached to her body. The last time I see her, she is standing at a different persons desk. I assume that everyone else doesn't know her...that she is new to the company, so I introduce myself to her with a wink. But, she looks at me intensly and seriously and says "things did not go as planned" and we are to talk at a time sometime later. Then I wake up.
If you have any suggestions on what this might mean, please let me know. Thanks in advance. |

"things did not go as planned"
Often dreams link to things that have just happened. They represent new insights into questions we are asking ourselves. But often these are not easy to interpret. Quotes may give us a clue. Think about this quote very loosely - what comes to mind. Is there an issue at work? Have you been planning something out? Has someone else got a plan in mind? ----------------------------- The father of modern dream interpretation is not Freud or Jung but rather Jon Winson. But he never made a single dream interpretation. Instead he conducted research into the mind and established that certain brainwaves (theta waves) only appear during the night time. During the day we store up all new experiences and feelings in short term memory. Then at night we start to work through what happened the previous day and we integrate these into long term memory blocks. Then finally we clear short term memory blocks ready to start the process again the next day. Its likely that any dreams we have are linked to these brain functions. The weird images and feelings once deciphered capture our own feelings and new insights into the world around us. So the dreams then will often link to specific events from the day before and to new ways in which our world has been reshaped. It may simply link to our paranoias and fantasies. If we are focused on something about to happen in the near future then the dreams may link to that. Each dream captures one specific feeling or thought process. a little bit ago, the person I dreamed about was offered another job with another company, but our company counter offered and gave her a raise and said situations would change if she stayed...it's been a few months now and situations had not gone as planned or hoped. She has second guessed herself on a daily basis on whether she made the right choice to stay.
Thanks for both of the analysis. It just confirms what is actually going on in her life. |
