Dream: being intimate with a cousin

Hi everyone,
I am new here. I stumbled upon the forums while trying to figure this one dream out I had last night. I am hoping I can get some help figuring this out. It is a weird dream.

I dreamed that I am in a bedroom with a big, nice comfy bed and a nice attached washroom. And I think to myself, this room is good to get intimate in. Then, there appears a cousin of mine and I am being intimate with him :S. Then there is other stuff like my cousin's younger brother trying to bug us by watching us. He knows what we are doing but he is jokingly doing that. And I don't get all self-conscious, like I normally would and I take it as a joke.

Then a particularly nasty idea occurs to me (nasty because its my cousin - nothing else!) but it irks me. I find myself thinking, I can't do that and the thought of my boyfriend occurs to me and how comfortable I'd be with him. And then it is back to me and my cousin.

I wouldn't have remembered this dream but a while ago I just remembered how I haven't talked to that cousin for quite a while now. That thought reminded me of this dream I had today. I thought about asking him if he is angry at me or something for not having talked to me. He is also a very caring guy, very sensitive, sometimes too sensitive...

Now, a bit of background. That cousin feels very close to me but I don't. I am there for him but I don't feel as close to him. Some times things happen that make me wonder if he has a crush on me. We most probably haven't talked for the reason that I got slightly annoyed at the things he said or did and I didn't really want to talk to him. I don't remember, but it is usually that. I forget about it all and we start talking again and it seems like we didn't talk because we were both busy with our lives. Now, we live in different countries and we only talk on MSN, or when I visit my family there. So, not talking for a couple weeks to months is not that bad.

Any ideas what this could be about?

I am not sure about an interpretation but,I have often wondered if we can project ourselves into other people's dream's in a subconscience way,not like to physicaly assaunt them or anything,but like if we Really care for someone with a passion. .so if your not really into him but he is really into you and it has grown, maybe something like that has happened or is happening.I have tried to do that on more than a few time's with some one i like,but i aint sure if it worked ..here's a thought, try to and see if you can project project yourself into his dreams..if for nothing else just to tell him all you want to do is be friend's..i beleive with practice,thing's like this can be done.
Keep us posted if you try something like that.

The subconscious mind brings awareness into our lives among other things. In this case it has done it's job. You were able, through the magic of a dream, live in the what if column if on only for a moment. Think about how you felt when you were to turned off by the thought of intimacy with your own cousin.
I will stop and say that your dream has done it's job...because it has reaffirmed your mindset regarding this matter.

Hi,
having sex with a relative means you will seperate or your relationship will be cut or one will go to a far travel.Of course this is for relatives that a sex would mean an incest,
Having sex with the relatives that you are allowed in the religions, simply means he will do you a favor.
A nice bed means some dignity and rank is on the way.

Thanks for your reply. It wasn't 'sex', technically speaking. It was sexual cuddling (I am embarassed to even say it). Does that change anything?

Now, the religion I formerly belonged to and he currently belongs to, allows marriages among first cousins. How does that change the meaning, if at all?

Also, dignity and rank for who? Me or him?



Btw, I talked to him today and he told me that he thought I was angry at him, which is why he didn't try to talk to me. I am sure I got angry at him last time I talked to him, but have forgotten all about it.

Hi sailrmc,
Thanks for replying. I like what you are saying, that even if for a moment, my subconscious tried to live it to really see. But then, some of it was ok for me :S and that one thought was disturbing. Now, I guess I can think about the extent to which each thought/action went and that can be a reason why I felt ok with one and not other. In waking life, I can NOT even imagine to be okay with what I was ok with in the dream.

Embarassed to means he will do you a favor.
Allowed to marry means , now he will do a favor.
For the both who were on the bed:

If one dreamt was sitting on a couch/bed and it was not carpeted or a cover means will go to a travel.
If dreamt was sleeping on a couch/bed and it was carpeted or covered means he will receive some dignity or promotion.
If the dreamer was dishonest and dreamt was sleeping on a couch means there is a danger of hanging up.
If dreamt the couch broke and he fell down means he will lose some dignity and his situation will be worse.
Throne or couch may also mean;1- dignity 2- a travel 3- rank 4- greatness 5- governing.

Thank you for responding. Psychoanalysts call the process that you experienced on this type of dream, individuation. You might like to Google, Carl Jung, individuation. These are the processes of the subconscious mind that help us to form our own sense of self.
