Dream about ex bf getting shot

The dream I had starts out with a big fight between my ex bf and myself. (FYI we are still good friends) WE are yelling and cursing at eachother and then we both storm off determined never to speak again, We are in a town, almost like the one we grew up and met in, he is calling someone for a ride, and I am walking down this hill, and heis walking up. I get halfway down and I run into a friend of his who I used to know, and we start talking and I realize I am being stupid and I already miss him a lot so we go find him. We find him and he is being a jerk and is still really mad at first, he tells me his ride is comming and go away, but we end up talking and then we take a walk with the friend. We end up behind a building where we are sitting in the grass and we are all talking. The friend comments something about the two of us, and we laugh. He tells her that we aren't together but still hook up and I get insulted that he told her so I throw grass at him. we start play fighting. We end up with me on my back him kneeling in front of me trying to pin me and I have my legs wrapped his waist.... well his current girlfriend shows up (guess she is his ride) she gets pissed and storms off, and he chase her. Our friend goes to stop him, but I tell her to let him go after his gf, and we start walking somewhere and then hear a gun shot... we go running towards it, and its my ex, and his gf. She shot him in his bad knee(he injured in in HS). we call 911 and while the cops are taking statements and arresting his gf I start talking real loud for her to hear that there was nothing going on between us we were just wrestling and playing around. then I start screaming at her YOU SHOT HIM for no reason you shot him, and call her a few names, then I try to attack her but our friend stops me. I look over and she is in shock, and then the friend and I leave for the hospital and I wake up.


I don't know where to begin to figure out what this means. Could it have anything to do with the fact that he is moving far away with his new gf?

This dream seems to be a sequence since that dream several nights ago I have had three more dreams. They all involve my ex bf but the other characters and the events change. The second two dreams both started with fighting between the two of us and us deciding not to speak to one another anymore, but the fight is always resolved at the end of the dream.

Last night there was no fighting just talking. His mother was there and we were sitting at a round table. We were discussing things, but I don't remember what.

why do I keep having these dreams about him?
