Default stranded in a foreign land

The reason for this dream might be that I have constantly been telling my husband about my desire to settle out of my country or moving oput of his house..one of the two...its kind of weird but I think I remeber the dream only coz I have told it to a couple of ppl.

I dream that I have a job offer from abroad (i think it was hongkong or bangkok). I reach and have to report for my induction. I reach the room where all newcomers are there. Then its time for lunch and when someone asks me to come for lunch, I say that my maid has packed my lunch for me (this is the case actually, I carry my lunch to work). Anyway...they tell me that it will take time for me to start working and I cannot start right away. my husband is not with me.

Then I get out to get to my hotel, and I realise I have no cash. In fact, I have the currency of my own country but no cash. I cannot get a cab and so I stat walking. This guy comes from somewhere (typical Asian with small eyes) and he tells me that there is nowhere I can get currency att his hour. So I keep walking and he says he will help me find the way to my hotel (coz it is a new place for me). I follow him but keep wondering why I should follow him. We go through deserted roads and then we go through an Indian market. There is all kind of Indian food, and I am happy to see so many Indians there (I am an Indian). Still I keep looking out for ATMS or places where I can get cash,...but everythign is shut.

I reach my hotel and they say I have to pay in cash if I want to stay there. Feeling hopeless coz I have no cash and no place to stay, I come back to the sea port. In my mind I have planned to go back to India. (I did not see in the dream that I actually returned, but there was this feeling that I would be catching a ship to come back home).

any ideas?

Hi

Often foreign places are used for a metaphor to express our state of mind right now either on a specific topic or generally. It shows that you perhaps have been doing something that is unfamiliar. That maybe you are doing something that is not quite you.

------------------------
In order to understand dreams you need to understand neural networks. Neural networks are how the brain stores important information. The dream mind connects to something happening in your life by comparing it to something esle that has previously happened. Inreal life you may feel tired. So a dream connects to that event by comparing it to an event where you felt the same sensations. So your dream mind is saying "I felt as tired as I did when I was moving house".

I have finished the dream evaluation and have come back to the beginning to say a few things.
First, Your dream is a great example of the processes of the mind that are actually explained by the dream as it goes through it's progression. You will see how your mind has come up with the dream, step by step.
Next: your dream does not really show any solutions to the waking life dilemma that you face. I have explained given two possible reasons for this.
Finally I pose a question to you...Did you ask your mind for a solution to yoru problem? Perhaps just before dreaming you mentioned that you need answers and will expect them in the dream that evening (that this dream ocurred?? Just curious. THere is innuendo of this but it is not definite that this happened. It would answer questions as to why the dream is constructed in the way that it is.
I took this opportunity to show how dreams are constructed and I believe that the mind (in addition to the message that needs to be conveyed), shows how it works to allow for understanding on your part. This helps to build a bond, and a trust that is life long and can be life changing.

Here we go...

Hello Lady_luck,
My comments will be in blue...

First I will say that your dream is very symbolic (in universal symbolism). This type of symbolism is that which we all share because we are of the same species. Your dreaming mind (same as subconscioud mind) does a good job of sort of setting up the dream. This is called architecture of the dream and shows the processes of the mind at work (where the dream is coming from) and then gets in to the meaning aspect of the dream). The architecture that I speak of is very typical as a form used by subconscious minds from all races, and cultures , but often misunderstood or mistaken as being part of the meaning aspect of dream (by the dreamer).
In your case I think that your last comment about doing things that you need to do, is in fact the basic summeric meaning, never the less I will evaluate your dream so as to show the architecture aspect from the meaning aspect of the dream.

I dream that I have a job offer from abroad (i think it was hongkong or bangkok)Symbolic for the opportunity that the dream will bring, for the dreamer to consider the unconscious thoughts that are being conveyed during this dream event. . I reach and have to report for my induction. The protocal of just what will be covered in the dream, as far as content or subject matter is verified and considered legitimate by the subconscious mind and it decides to allow the subconscious information be brought to consciousness. As most dreams, and yours is no exception, this is done using a certain degree of symbolism...It seems that I could write chapters as to how this process works but it is off of the task that we are trying to accomplish here (on this forum). I reach the room where all newcomers are there. Newcomers representing the new information that has bee accumulated and prepared for it's presentation to you (courtesy of the subconscious mind)...new bits of information to come your way shortly...in your dream. Then its time for lunch and when someone asks me to come for lunch, I say that my maid I love this symbolism! It is in a way, a tounge and cheek reference to the role of the subconscious mind. It is a viable part of each and every one of us. It takes care of us implicitly. It ovserves every detail of our waking life...what we encounter with all of our five senses, and it records just how we feel about each and evey bit of data that we encounter in our waking life. Then it prepares this data after close consideration of how we as a person could best benefit. has packed my lunch for me YES!! It packs the food for thought that we are to hopefully consume (bring to conscousness). Can you see how this part of the dream shows the processes of the mind??(this is the case actually, I carry my lunch to work). Anyway...they tell me that it will take time for me to start working and I cannot start right away. my husband is not with me.Now we are ready to see the message that is being portrayed through subconscious thoughts that are being sent to you (the food for thought is ready to come to you in a dream). Unconscious thoughts are often referred to as being from a foreign country or even delivered from a foreigner as symbolism showing that they emanate from the subconscious mind. Keep in mind that this part of our mind cannot command the body to do anything (this is done by the waking or conscious mind). It can only suggest and give recommendations etc. that are so very valuable to us. The subconscious mind and the conscious mind are completely separate but they both serve the total person that we are.

I will have to continue on another post due to length constraints.

continuation...

Then I get out to get to my hotel,Symbolic for this dream being about something that it temporary, and not a usual condition that is enountered in waking life. and I realise I have no cash. From what I glean, the lack of cash specifically referrs to the mental assets or lack of capability of the dreamer to solve a problem in waking life. In fact, I have the currency of my own countryThe currency, on the other hand referrs to the waking life ideas and propensity to solve the problem that this dream is referring to. It is currency of the conscious mind and not spendable by the subconscious mind so to speak. So the currency has no value in the thoughts (nor is it recognized byt the subconscious mind). but no cash. Hence you are being told that what you think in your waking life does not have value subconscoiusly (again the conscious and subconscious are different realms. I cannot get a cab and so I stat walking. This referrs to the thoughts that you are having and the process of the mind that will allow you to address your waking life problems. This guy comes from somewhere (typical Asian with small eyes) Important symbolism, foreigner with small eyes shows that the information coming to you in this dream will be from the subconscious mind and will be perhaps just a small or tiny perspective that will help you to deal with your problem. and he tells me that there is nowhere I can get currency att his hour. This symbolism of currency is rather bad news. One of two things is happening here. I will try to be brief. Either the innudendo is being made that the dream cycle that you are in does not have enough time left in it to convey the full and complete message...let me explain. We only have a limited amount of time to dream (REM sleep) and many times when we start to dream too late in the sleep cycle the dream shows that there is simply not enough time to convey the complete thought needed. This is when a reference is shown as being out of time or being inaccessable is used by the dreaming mind OR: The message might be that there is nothing that the subconscious mind has to offer in the way of information regarding the problem at hand (in waking life). It is saying that it is simply too late or not able to help you out of a mess that you have gotten into. This is kind of a way to say...Hey LADY_luck this is your deal so the spotlight is on you!So I keep walking and he says he will help me find the way to my hotel (coz it is a new place for me). This line tells you that even though the subconscious mind may not have answers that will totally solve your problem, it will take care of you and try to see you through it. So in essence this scene shows you taking the bait, so to speak...and following the hint to listen to the subconscious thoughts that are to come your way. So you see the mind's processes and how they are conveyed, how they actually tell you how the mind is working on your behalf .I follow him but keep wondering why I should follow him. This is normal. We are hesitant to pay attention to the information that we receive from the subconscious mind because, until we get to know "it" we are less likely to "trust it" This is what I call a dream guide. I have written about it much on this site and others. This characters purpose is created to lead the dreamer to the meaning of the dream that will be conveyed. We go through deserted roads and then we go through an Indian market. There is all kind of Indian food, and I am happy to see so many Indians there (I am an Indian). Still I keep looking out for ATMS or places where I can get cash,...but everythign is shut.Still you are unable to gain both the information and the physical assets to get you out or your temporary situation. Still there is no mention as to exactly what the situation is. This is because you are the dreamer and the dream is written for you (not an outsider like me). You already know what problems exist in your waking life. It does not need to tell you what the problem is.

To summarize a bit:
Your dream intimates that you are feeling alone and broken (perhaps emotionally and physically)...not necessarily both but emotionally detached for certain. There are possible problems getting both the authority and the means to return to your country. Quite simply, you do not have the answer.
Quite possibly, the dream is constructed, in the way that it is, because there is someone who you are married to or committed to that is keeping you from retuning to your country of origin. We see dreams constructed that do not give answers and in the context you have written when sacred vows would need to be broken to accomplish the wish of the dreamer...or even if this has been considered by the dreamer. I find that it is only extreme cases (such as abuse) that the subconscious mind ever uses divorce or separation as a solution.
So you see there is much to consider here.
I am certain that some of what I have said applies but because I hve not had the chance to interview you I can only suggest the possiblities (again this is not the format to do this).
Peace,
sailrmc
