This dream was sandwiched in between some other dreams, but it's the only one I remember from that night.
My boyfriend (from real-life) and I were walking down this empty highway that resembled an interstate - I remember we seemed to frequently go under overpasses. It was night and the sky was a sort of washed out dark blue, but it seemed to be much paler along the horizon, as if it were dusk or more like just before dawn. There were no cars whatsoever on the highway and the countryside around us seemed to be completely empty, or at least the people were all asleep. Although I don't remember meeting any other travelers in the dream, I get the feeling that there were definitely other people traveling on foot like we were. I looked out at the sky on my right and could make out the vague shapes of cars falling from the sky. They were sort of transparent looking, as if they were just poor projections, and they seemed to be falling in slow motion. There were only a few of them, one of which was a big white van. I was at first a little frightened by them because I thought it was a bad omen of some sort, but when I realized that they looked fake I was kind of annoyed and wondered if someone was trying to fool me. I pointed them out to my boyfriend and expressed my concerns, and he seemed to think that the cars weren't that important, that we should ignore them. We continued to walk down the highway for a while, just talking about random stuff, I don't even remember what, and then I looked off to the right again and once more saw the same set of cars falling at the same speed as before. This time, though, they looked more real, only a bit fuzzy because they were off in the distance, and as I looked at them they seemed to stop and just hang there, falling almost imperceptibly. I pointed them out again, but this time I was more curious as to where they were coming from and why, I wasn't really worried by them anymore. To myself I thought that it didn't make sense for them to be falling from the sky, that I didn't think it was God sending me some kind of message. I wondered if maybe we were actually underwater and the cars had crashed into the water and were falling from the surface. This seemed to make more sense to me, and I felt comforted by that possibility, but the dream ended before I had decided whether or not we were in fact underwater. I know it's kind of weird, and maybe a little jumbled - it wasn't a very active dream, most of the dream was occupied with the images of these cars and my wondering what they meant, if anything.
