Very Eclectic dream

last night I had this bizarre dream with a lot of different elements scattered around. Ok, first I was in a house cleaning the carpet with a new device that scrapes the floor getting up pet hair, in my dream I had two cats and the floor was embedded with hair, so I got it out and vacuumed it up. Then I met an old family friend who was running for president, but everyone knew he had no chance against Obama, then President Nixon appeared in my dream and some how I knew him. Then I went into a cake shop to by a cake for my presidential candidate friend, and the cake shop had the number two in the title, the cake cost $200, but I had them make it. It was a basic vanilla cake with white frosting and green writing, the bake shop was pastel pink. I told the baker I would pick up the cake later, intending not to. But then I found myself walking home with the cake, it was hot out and feared the cake would melt. Again I ran into Nixon and my friend, but had to hide the cake. I went inside the house and was going to put it in the cupboards and everything fell out, then I put it in the refrigerator. I never paid for the cake. Now I can understand the presidential aspect, because of all the news coverage, but does anybody have any thought about the other elements of the dream.
