Default The Tornados in my dream.

Since about a year, I often dream of tornados. Sometimes just one, sometimes multiple. I obviously feel extremely threatened and very scared.

The dreams involve at least one more person other than myself (always a family member), and often (not always) my home (places where I used to live, or where I currently do).

I never know if I get hit by one, because I always wake up shortly before I know it may happen.

Yesterday was one of the worst dreams of all:
I am in my backyard in central Europe where I grew up. We don't really have many tornados there at all, so I don't even understand why my mind keeps on going to this place! All of a sudden I hear people scream. I look up and see this huge funnel cloud starting to form right above me.

I call for my mother, who runs into the house as well. We both head for the basement, but we choose different paths in the house to get there. I know she is safe, but I don't know if I will make it. I also hope to meet my son down there. I know I can't safe him if he is not. Then I wake up.

My guess is that these dreams are the result of one or both of these facts:
1. I currently live in a tornado common area.
2. I have had a rough year so far, and the violent storms may be the way I feel.

Do you agree?

Hi,

If dreamt there was a hard wind means people will have fears.
If the wind was so hard and derooted the trees and ruined the houses means an epidemie in the city and a disaster.
Warm wind and cold wind mean illness but moderate wind means health.
If dreamt wind took him means will go to a travel and will have dignity.
If with the wind there was dust and darkness means fears and anxiety .
If hard wind took him to the sky there is a death a death danger.
If dreamt wind took him to the sky and was back again means he will be ill and will cure.
If there was a moderate west wind means blessings for the people.
If there was a moderate north wind means comfort and health for the people .
Wind sound in the dream means benefits from the government.
If dreamt wind took people and take them to the sky means will receive dignity from people.

people screaming doesn't mean good , it means something bad in the region.
But you were scared means you will remain safe.
Good luck to you.

Yes you understand your dream perfectly. It probably occurs at moments of particular stress. Try to think what happened the day before and how you especially felt the day before.
------------------------
In order to understand dreams you need to understand neural networks. Neural networks are how the brain stores important information. The dream mind connects to something happening in your life by comparing it to something esle that has previously happened. Inreal life you may feel tired. So a dream connects to that event by comparing it to an event where you felt the same sensations. So your dream mind is saying "I felt as tired as I did when I was moving house".

If you live in tornado alley, your subconscious will use your fear of tornados to wake you up.
If you had a rough year it is likely that you suffer from stress or overwork and may need a tornado to wake you in the morning! For that is the reason you have these dreams ; to wake you up!
I always wake up shortly before I know it may happen.
Cheers Wolfjk

Thanks guys! This was helpful, and also confirmed my thoughts. Still don't know why the tornado-dreams usually take me to my former or current home, but that's ok.
