Question White Light, Beetles & Resurrection?(any help appreciated)

This is a confusing one(again). Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

07/21/08

An overcast sky, the ground seems to be packed dirt, dry and almost white, perfectly flat for miles around. Hundreds of people are standing here in place, not moving or speaking. The view never goes above their necks. They're all dressed in plan casual clothes, all faded half-colors. All of a sudden a brilliant white light flashes through, in a quick stream. Their bodies are cut at the waist. I see different people falling in slow motion, separated from their other halves. Where blood and wound should be stayed the white lights.

First person view now. I'm standing just past the bodies, staring at them. I wore black dresspants and a white button-up rolled at the sleeves, but no socks or shoes. I hear a strange buzzing, and turn to see a black screen door on a section of white siding. There is no house here, only this part of a wall. As I approach, the buzzing gets louder. On the surface of the screen I see an insect walking(I looked around on the computer and it most resembles an elephant beetle, but with a smaller thinner body.). The beetle's shell is a dark gray, with a rainbow sheen running through it like a spot of oil. There are small turquoise spots along the shell. I reach out and it crawls into the palm of left hand. I see a black mass swarming behind the screen, legs squirming at the edges of the door, trying to break free. They are the same as the one in my hand.

I open the door, and they flood out in a dark cloud flying to the bodies and healing them, putting them back together, before flying off together into the sky. Looking back down the people are gone. I raise my hand and see the first beetle in my palm, fluttering his wings and sliding his horn against my skin, almost similar to how a cat pushes its head into you for attention or affection.End.

Question Please Help

Please, if anyone has even a vague idea about this dream, I would like to hear it. There are a few dreams I have on hold, and this is one that's bothering me the most so far.

Again, if you have any thoughts or suggestions on this, please let me know.

Thank you.

- Manny

Hi Manny,
Avery dramatic dream! It is difficult for an outsider to interpret a dream that is so out of this world.
Normally dreams are responses to what happens in sleep. However the dreams have to deal with the psychological aspect of the sleepers personality.
The dream may be response to a stream of thoughts that enter your mind while you sleep. Perhaps you're worried about the world; worried about the environment. Another aspect that would cause a dream like this is if you read sci-fi books or thinking about writing one!
And there is the physical aspect! The dream could also be caused food, drink, medicine and overwork. Perhaps you're burning the candle at both ends?
I could break down the dream into it's quantum elements, but it would not tell you the cause. It would indicate that you needed a lot of energy to raise your level of consciousness to wher your brain could remember the dream.
Cheers Wolfjk

First I want to thank you for responding to this, I didn't think anyone was going to.

You said it could be related to what was on my mind before sleeping that night, but actually that was one of the more peaceful and clearheaded nights I've had recently. I haven't been reading any sci-fi and I myself don't write sci-fi/fantasy type stories(maybe I'll give it a try someday, but not yet).

I'm not sure I understand this:

"I could break down the dream into it's quantum elements, but it would not tell you the cause. It would indicate that you needed a lot of energy to raise your level of consciousness to where your brain could remember the dream."

Could you explain further?

Thank you again hermano. I hope to hear from you soon.

Default Elements of dreams

Hi Manny,

It is not easy to explain, but I will try!
The physical body needs a constant supply of energy, which we get from the food, water and air supply. The fire is always burning!
Our spiritual side also needs a supply of energy to keep up and raise our level of consciousness. We think make decisions, know what is going on around us, we sleep and wake up. All these activities need energy, but a different kind. It is almost imperceptible.
The spiritual side of our being is still subject to the laws of the universe, especially to the Laws of Thermo Dynamics so there is nothing supernatural about it.
The quantum energy we use to raise and maintain the levels of consciousness are; light, colours, heat, ideas, concepts emotions and many many more. The level of consciousness is constantly changing! It fall naturally as our mental activity lessens and needs a constant input of interests and activities when we're awake, and a constant flow of dreams while we 're asleep.

If you look at the above quote, you will see what I mean by quantum elements: the colours the light, the strange ideas! All these serve to raise your level of consciousness! It is the way the subconscious mind engages the brain.
This activity goes on ubequitously in all our dreams. It is the mechanics of life, consciousness and waking!

Very interesting dream....the whole atmosphere of it...seems kind of a dream form a collective subconscious...I dont know, but maybe you've heard about the story of androgines...Once upon a time (early greek mythology) on Earh there were only two species: Gods and a tribe of Androgines(which were man and woman in one). One day they rebelled aginst gods and Zeus punished them for the uprising by sutting them all at half...from then on this were people, suffering because every one of them is from then on looking for his other half...it is an interesting story, not so well known, but explains human's longing for the Other.
It is also this symbolism in your dream in the other half. As for the beetle...it is important what you asocciate with the beetle...nevertheless, it seems in your dream they are those, which trigger ressurection...resurrection is powerfull archetype, which many religion (including shamanism, where it probably originates) have....like the eternal cycle of birth and dead and birth again in eastern hinduism and budhism, and so son and so on...it is usually a metaphor for kind of a transformation which can be on different level, bur as for the individual dreamer on his individual level it often means, he/she is in a state of transformation, where old aspects of is personality because die and new are born (ressurection) Of, course, every new stage in life, where we dramatically change and where old parts of our personality die and new are born, is usually triggered by a strong emotional or other outer event or sometimes by change in aour values, plans, etc(inner trigger for change).
I hope that helps you just a bit,

Dedalus

Your response and explanation were very interesting. This is the first that I've heard of this kind of thing, and you kept it straightforward enough to come across clearly.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask what your beliefs are . . . That's pretty vague isn't it? What I mean is what is your stance on religion/spirituality? And one more question: Do you believe that dreams are nothing more than consciousness maintenance?

Dedalus

First, thank you for taking time to respond.

The name Daedalus has come up three times now in the last few days(the third is your sn). Things always seem to repeat themselves.

The tale of the androgines was interesting. I hadn't heard it before now. I wonder if the halves have a similar meaning here. The people felt like a general picture of "society". They were separated from me, and I couldn't see them. I felt nothing seeing them cut in half, but the beetles had me transfixed . Beetles don't seem to represent anything to me personally(as far as I can think of right now). What you said about resurrection seems to fit, but I'm not sure how yet.

Thank you both again for your help. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi Manny,
Thanks for your post.

I do not think there is more spirituality in religion than in an existential belief without any God figure. Infact the person who takes responsibility for his or her action is more spiritual than a pius person who has to ask for forgiveness for the sins.
Religion is an interest in life where the follower gets a certain amount of quantum energy from his /her beliefs and the rites and ceremonies.
Quote:

I started out believing that dreams were something out of this world, however after a very long time I realised that dreaming is a very sophisticatd nocturnal control system. A vital function of life. A mechanical waking system!
It would have been impossible to understand dreams before the computer systems and the quantum theory came along.
However, dreaming is more than a control system, as it uses non phisical energy as well as light colour and heat. Intelligence; ideas and concepts rank equal to material energy. In that sense, when dreaming is understood, it will change the scientists view of the universe! Perhaps that is where spirituality begins!
Cheers Wolfjk

Well its always very difficult to interpret a dream. In many ways I look for some big event and try to connect a dream to it. So if you had a bad day the day before then perhaps bad emotions couldexpress your emotions. But dreams are capable of more complex thought. I firmly believe that dreams can symbolize the inner workings of the mind. They are capable of very complex thought processes. Yet we know not how to decode such complex dreams.

But you do mention that the dream was on a night which was exrtremely peaceful. Maybe that was the meaning of the dream. The dream does end in heling so its really not that bad. Quite frankly the dream could capture your prevailing mood at the time eg "I had an extremely peaceful mood last night. Its as if all those terrible worries I have were swept away."

Its expressing those same thoughts. Just in symbolic ways.
------------------
One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions.

During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten.

During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.

To Wolfjk & Unclesirbobbyrobson

Thank you both for filling me in on some of the science behind the processes of dreaming and sleep. Though it's not exactly what I was looking for when I posted this, it turned out to be an unexpected surprise and I'm always happy to know more today than I did yesterday.

Thanks again.
