This is the first dream I've remembered in quite a while. It's different. Any ideas or help on this will be greatly appreciated.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Just above parking decks stacked up into the sky, was a huge building. This is where I was. I climbed level after level, before reaching the top deck. On top was a thin homemade rope ladder, around 12 ft in length. I climbed up onto an edge of the building floating in the sky. It resembled a building on Market St., close to where I grew up. Looking down I noticed it was too high to make out any kind of ground below, only clouds. The first area I remember myself in, seemed like a sort of waiting room for three different locked doors. This area itself was pretty big ^_===_|x (x is the section with the three doors. ^ is an open ledge, a place with parallel brick ledges, it looked like stairs would go here, if the building wasn't so high up into the clouds.). This area had three couches, one on each of the walls. The couches were a dull kidney bean shade of red, a dirty orange, and dingy green(public waiting room colors in old buildings). The couch area was in a section that went down three steps around the whole room, the elevated part, where the doors were was about four feet wide. I noticed someone I knew coming out of one of the doors, it was the door on the right. It was my friend Debo, he looked a little out of it. I walked towards him, and since he was looking down didn't notice and bumped into me. For whatever reason this made him angry and he started arguing with me, eventually he wanted to fight, but as he was yelling he kept walking back and eventually was gone. I went to follow but lost site of him. Walking back towards the ledge, a kid approached. He was a little black kid, with a backwards blue fitted hat, a long blue sleeveless T, and baggy black jean shorts with a bulky pair of black nikes with fat blue laces on.(The same character was in a couple other dreams of mine.) He was short and seemed to be around 11 or 12 yrs old, the look in his eye though suggested that he was older. Here his eyes were glazed. After asking me to help him with something, I decided to follow along. As we got to the point in front of the ledge, the boy stopped. two women were wrestling with each other, one very dark black, the other had pale skin and black hair, both had long hair and bother were tall and slender. They were bare. They almost seemed to be exactly the same aside from complexion. They fought against each other with all they could before moving to the edge of the ledge and falling off together. The boy looked up at me with a serious expression and said we should keep going. Walking on through one of the halls, I looked back to see the silhouette of someone sitting on the ledge now, their long hair blowing in the wind. The room he led me too was all asphalt and cold metal inside. It was dark and took a little time for my eyes to adjust. I noticed other kids sitting in the shadows. It was huge inside, like a warehouse cooler. The boy asked me if I could open the hydrants for them. Gray fire hydrants were here and there throughout the room, but one big one was situated directly in the center. I took out a wrench and went about undoing it. Water shot up to the ceiling and revealed huge skylights. Light flooded into the room and color touched everything. Grass replaced steel and the children ran out to rejoice. The boy shook my hand with a cool look in his eye, before lighting a cigarette for himself and me. He nodded grinning as I left the room. Opening another door I saw that everything moved as if it was underwater. Seaweed and discarded papers danced on the floor and a soft light played at the ceiling. The further into the room the darker and harder to see. I noticed a black cat "swimming" across, and it turned to look at me. Somehow, I got the impression that it was grinning. End. |

Hello Manny,
My comments are in blue, Just above parking decks stacked up into the sky, was a huge building. This represents the part of you that is responsible for these thoughts...the higher self...the unconscious mind> The first area I remember myself in, seemed like a sort of waiting room for three different locked doors. This area itself was pretty big ^_===_|x (x is the section with the three doors. ^ is an open ledge, a place with parallel brick ledges, it looked like stairs would go here, if the building wasn't so high up into the clouds.). This area had three couches,Three levels of consciousness, the conscious mind, the subconscious (same as unconscious mind) and the superconscious (the spiritual aspect of self). one on each of the walls.Yes, each is it's own entity (so to speak). Each aspect is not bound by the other but they all contribute to the person that you are. They are all parts of you, your real life make up. The couches were a dull kidney bean shade of red, a dirty orange, and dingy green(public waiting room colors in old buildings). The couch area was in a section that went down three steps around the whole room,This representation is an indication of the fact that perhaps you are in a state of stagnation or looking at something that was once a hope or dream. While it still is within reaching distance it is something that needs renewal or dusting off. the elevated part, where the doors were was about four feet wide. The doors represent the steps or path that is possible to take concerning getting back on track (with what ever is being represented). The dream does not state what is being examined at this point, but it is something that you are well aware of (in real life). I noticed someone I knew coming out of one of the doors, it was the door on the right. It was my friend Debo, he looked a little out of it. I walked towards him, and since he was looking down didn't notice and bumped into me.This person likely represents himself but it is possible that he is just a role player (in this production) that is used to introduce the "emotion" of someone being angry with you, for being in the way. For whatever reason this made him angry and he started arguing with me, eventually he wanted to fight, but as he was yelling he kept walking back and eventually was gone. I went to follow but lost site of him.Perhaps you are exploring the notion that you have felt as if you are in some way not good enough, or inferior in some way. Reading ahead I can say that the emotion that you are examining in your dream has to do with an emotion that was first experienced in your childhood. It has made it's mark on you. What I mean to say is that you are experiencing some uncomfortable feeling, now in current time as you once felt as a child. This feeling or emotion weighed heavy upon you and anytime you experience similar feelings in current times you sort of revert back to your first prominent experience with such feelings and emotions. This is very common in dreams and the way that your dream goes about bringing this out out is typical. Walking back towards the ledge, a kid approached. He was a little black kid, with a backwards blue fitted hat, a long blue sleeveless T, and baggy black jean shorts with a bulky pair of black nikes with fat blue laces on.(The same character was in a couple other dreams of mine.)Here is your dream guide...remember we have talked about this before (the importance of this role player in dreams is that he leads you to the action so that you may derive the intended message of the dream. He was short and seemed to be around 11 or 12 yrs old, the look in his eye though suggested that he was older. Here his eyes were glazed. After asking me to help him with something, I decided to follow along. As we got to the point in front of the ledge, the boy stopped. The ledge is symbolic for the special perspective that dreams allow us to view events or even our surroundings in life. This allows for objectivity and clarity as we explore that which is shown to us. two women were wrestling with each other, one very dark black, the other had pale skin and black hair, both had long hair and bother were tall and slender. This shows that you are likely in the midst of internal struggle. Your conscious mind and subconscious mind are at odds about something. They were bareShowing that there is no cover up here, what is to be realized is straight forward and to the point. . They almost seemed to be exactly the same aside from complexion.Exactly! They fought against each other with all they could before moving to the edge of the ledge and falling off together. Both aspects, the conscious mind and the subconscious are somewhat equal...they are completely separate aspects of self and they each have their specific duties and responsibilities. We have discussed this before. The subconscious suggests, and is mentor and friend who is blatantly honest but cannot decide, on the other hand the conscious mind is the waking mind and is the free will, that can carry out your commands to carry out any deed that you wish (right or wrong). The boy looked up at me with a serious expression and said we should keep going. Walking on through one of the halls,There is yet to be a meeting of the minds as they are in turmoil. I looked back to see the silhouette of someone sitting on the ledge now, their long hair blowing in the wind.I am not absolutely certain what this means...perhaps they worked things out and what the consensus is, is that you are allow yourself to be free...to move? Or to go with the wind (so to speak?). The room he led me too was all asphalt and cold metal inside. It was dark and took a little time for my eyes to adjust. I noticed other kids sitting in the shadows. It was huge inside, like a warehouse cooler. The boy asked me if I could open the hydrants for them. Here we go now!! Gray fire hydrants were here and there throughout the room, but one big one was situated directly in the center. The indication is that you have found balance, the struggle or gridlock is over and now your emotions will flow. You have made a decision to be free (in mind and thought) as next indicated with the action of loosening of the valve. I took out a wrench and went about undoing it. Water shot up to the ceiling and revealed huge skylights.Creativity is being facilitated, and spiritual awareness is kicking in, and is allowing for inspiration (this an indication that your mind set is creatively productive... Light flooded into the room and color touched everything.Yes!! Inspiration abounds!! Grass replaced steelWhat was cold and hard now comes to life and is growing (what an incredible way for the mind to say...Creativity abounds!! and the children ran out to rejoice. The boy shook my hand with a cool look in his eye, before lighting a cigarette for himself and me.This is an arrangement and now you are ready to make things happen. He nodded grinning as I left the room. What an incredible way to show you that the struggle is over...there is no gridlock...You are free to be creative (through inspiration). The indication is that this creativity is meant to be. The struggle between logic that one tends to grasp (the security that is logic based) and the reality of the gift of creativity) has been decided. You have freed yourself in some way and now you will follow your calling. Length constraints require a continuation.... |

This is part two of the dream evaluation...
This dream is most likely a chronicle, of the mental goings on...the struggles that you have endured as you have struggled to choose your path in life (as of late). Opening another door I saw that everything moved as if it was underwater.Remember underwater and the magic of the subconscious mind that inspires this flow to take place. Seaweed and discarded papers dancedMore dancing of paper...I love it!! on the floor and a soft light played at the ceiling.Yes! The further into the room the darker and harder to see. I noticed a black cat "swimming" across, and it turned to look at me. Somehow, I got the impression that it was grinning. The subconscious mind is in control of the fine details that will accentuate your work, that will crown it with awesome fine points. End. At the risk of being redundant, the summary of it all shows that you have been in a deadlock. I am wondering if somehow you have made a real life request (of your conscious and subconscious mind to work together? These two aspects of self, are totally separate. When asked to acknowledge each other, they often show that they can do nothing but criticize each other and end up embroiled in battle. This is why I wonder if you have made such a request. Talk about sparks! And fire! They must remain separate...but they will each have their own input. The subconscious mind will suggest on it's own terms but it will provide the motion on the paper (as your prior dream indicated). There is no need to ask for specific participation. If you find yourself deadlocked (writers block), I can show you very gentle ways for you to request the participation of the subconscious mind, but this is not something that you want to try unless you become totally desperate. Manny, you already have been told that you have cooperation and willingness of the subconscious mind to facilitate your thought processes, to maximize creativity. Just a guess...but this looks as if you may have made a request for collaberative effort of both conscious and subconscious mind. They are all but saying they will be separate but equal. Worst case scenario, you have this worked out for now. Be ready all aspects of self to participate (even the spiritual). I would say that you are in store for some pretty amazing writing. One more thing...perhaps there is an innuendo here, showing that you would need to use the conscious mind to get the basic story line, and then sleep on it. The subconscious looks as if it will add the magic that will allow you to refine the piece that you are working on...Of course the spiritual light will illuminate the subconscious "color" that has been added. All I have to say, is that you are getting the go ahead! Expect some amazing things!! Your thoughts? sailrmc |

This is the first time in awhile that I've been online, sorry I took so long to respond. You said that the area with the three couches being lowered by three steps could represent some stagnation. This fits with what's been going on lately. My friend wanting to fight - The way he acted in the dream doesn't fit the actual person's style or attitude. Also, I didn't feel anything much, aside from a little confusion when he got worked up. You suggested it could draw back to some kind of childhood memories or emotions. I can't think of anything it would relate to, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's not true. The dark and pale women struggling - I agree that there's an internal struggle, but I'm still not sure about the silhouette after looking back. Room with children and hydrants - On first reading what you had to say here, it sounded too good to be true(I'm very suspicious of good news by nature, I can't help it.) so I had to take a minute and let it set in before I read on. It was hard to swallow, but with all the other things and symbols we've talked about in the other dreams, it does make sense. I never would've pulled that interpretation out of it on my own. "Underwater" room - I didn't connected the "dancing papers" either, even though I worded it that way, it just slipped past me. The colors and imagery in this room definitely seem like the subconscious mind. And of course another black cat. As usual your interpretation is impressive hermano, there's no way I would've gathered all that for myself. You asked if I'd made a waking request for the conscious and subconscious to work together. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, or what could be considered a request for them to "work together". Could you explain? "If you find yourself deadlocked (writers block), I can show you very gentle ways for you to request the participation of the subconscious mind, but this is not something that you want to try unless you become totally desperate." ^I'm not sure what you're suggesting here either, but I am interested in what you have to say. Creative flow is like the blood of writing, if you have some kind of advice on getting it flowing then I'd definitely like to hear. "Manny, you already have been told that you have cooperation and willingness of the subconscious mind to facilitate your thought processes, to maximize creativity. Just a guess...but this looks as if you may have made a request for collaborative effort of both conscious and subconscious mind. They are all but saying they will be separate but equal. Worst case scenario, you have this worked out for now. Be ready all aspects of self to participate (even the spiritual). I would say that you are in store for some pretty amazing writing." ^It's exciting to think about, I hope you're right about that. Oh, a couple things I forgot to say about the dream>>> I.As soon as I entered the floating building, I could hear this noise. It was like giant exhaust fans, loud but not close-by. The noise stopped when the boy led me to the two women struggling. II.The building that it resembled, close to where I grew up is actually a library. Growing up I always had memories of going there for some kind of medical care, but it turns out that it must of been a dream. It's been a library forever. III.This boy, this dream guide is the only reoccurring character that I can ever remember having(aside from Mr. parchment, who was more like a theme than a character.). Every dream he's been in, he usually comes into play right when I'm angry or upset about something and sets me straight, leading me to a quiet, relaxed place and giving me advice. Thank you again for another great interpretation mano. - Manny |

Manny,
The couches on the step down area, are the subconscious mind's way to invite you to stop and think about something...I perceived this as think about something old (an old issue from when you were a kid??) Or something that is associated with you or your friend being childish (an issue with dust on it...being old or at least not current). Read on and when you finish the next grouping of sentences brainstorm a bit about those questions that I have raised OR some that may even come up that I have not mentioned (about what this situation in your dream may be reflecting). Think about why your friend, Debo, would be angry with you. Was he angry with at the time you had this dream? Another thing...what is a predominant trait or association that you have with this friend. Another words, when you see him in real life what is the first thing you think about? It is possible that you are, in this dream facing an real issue that Debo has with you, and you are trying to understand it and resolve it. As well this part of the dream that I have mentioned in the above two groupings, may itself depict internal struggle. If so, a side of you that has been at rest or at peace has been stirred up and is fighting mad. If so, in what are you angry with yourself. I see the to women fighting and have mentioned that it internal struggle...I see it that way and you agree that within you there is internal strife. Going one step further if you consider the fact that they are women, it would indicate that both the conscious and subconscious aspects of self are at odds BUT more specifically these are the parts of what could is recognized as the more female side of self...the part of you that is compassionate, caring, nurturing, etc. These aspects of self both conscious and subconscious within you are at odds. Can you think of why they would be at odds with each other? In some way the next scene of the person with long hair on the ledge with hair blowing in the breeze, is a clue. This character or role player on the ledge would typically be viewed as independence and in the context of your dream it would show that your independence has won out? If Debo was a love or friend is no matter something concerning him or an association with him is unsettled...perhaps it is an emotion that you associate with him...this emotion would be the center of the struggle within you. I assume that even though independence has won out, it is not a clean win. You know the kind of win that one can have and it becomes a matter of semantics because in reality he may have made others angry in the process...essentially you loose even though you win? This is how I see this character with hair blowing in the wind. He is sort of desolate even though the fight was over. If this was not enough to confuse you already; All of what I just explained was something that you first experienced long ago, when growing up. This is when you learned the lesson that you have possibly just re-experienced...that one can win a fight but in so doing, you actually have lost(something or someone significant) . Is it possible that this is resolution about the loss of a love or a friend? It is your dream and so you will know. There is no symbolism that says that the dream is bringing information to you, that you are not already aware of., so one could only assume that you are aware of the situation being brought up in the dream. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in the assumption that the hydrant opening depicts immediate loss of stagnation or block. It could show that you were sad about whatever meaning you place on the dream thus far and now you are over that...sort of like a good cry cleanses the soul? At the same time, it would show that whatever stagnation you were experiencing is over. I call this being reborn in spirit or emotions through cleansing or resolution. The net of the net should boil down to the same meaning in my view. And the cooperation that I talked about, on both conscious and subconscious accounts would still apply...It takes both the conscious and subconscious mind to genuinely resolve sadness or issues in general. They are separate but equally important in handling their own problems (in their own areas of responsibility). In your case the resolution took place and color was let into your life again. I see this as rebirth through resolution leading to or facilitating balance in your life. I often see dreams that are in fact a chronology or story line the life of the dreamer. Is it possible that this is such a dream. If you lay this dream parallel with any part of your life does it follow a similar sequence of anger, resolution, and rebirth (or a fresh start, of some kind). In reading your response I somehow am left with the notion that you still do not quite get what is being presented to you. Dreams are not always answers to problems. Sometimes they are acknowledgments of where the dreamer has been (emotionally due to real life situations) and the like. Perhaps this is more of a chronicle of situation where you have disappointed a friend, and now you are managing to get over it...to turn on the "fire" hydrant so as to put out the fire of anger within. In some way there was turmoil albeit internal or even extenal but in some way it became both for you. The good news is that you are getting over stagnation or a mind block that was caused by some kind of extenuating circumstance. This may even be as simple in meaning as to show that your friends were unhappy with you (for shifting gears) perhaps even leaving them, to pursue your dream of letting the color flow from your pen, on to the paper. Again it is your dream. I can only look from the outside in and evaluate the information that you have given to me. This is exactly what I have done. The exhaust fans represent the process' of the mind, the work that is being done in the mind, it's ability to function normally and effectively. The fact that the sound of the fan stopped was because the mind cannot function when there is unbalance or fighting. Remember, it was when the two women were fighting that you noticed the sound stop. Struggle or strife, regardless if it is internal or external in origin, is a huge distraction. My friend, this is telling you that you were not able to process fully (feelings and emotions) because there was some kind of fight or struggle in process. How can the words jump off of the page and dance when there are major distractions. Again I am saying that the innuendo (actually it is much more than innuendo it was a bold statement) that says you again have the flow going...and if you remember there is color! Indicating fullness, and the ability to be creative! Now all you have to do is to release your tensions, go outside and listen to the babble of a brook, or hear the wind wisper in the leaves. Open your mind, and let the color flow. Write it, capture it and you have been told that your subconscious would provide the color and added imagination. Your mind is all but telling you straight out that there have been problems, it stated the problems in this dream) and now is saying, go for it!! Your thoughts? sailrmc Last edited by sailrmc : 07-16-2008 at 06:58 PM. |

I'm still not sure where you're getting the idea that this represents something "old" or from childhood. Could you explain that to me? As for Debo, his dream personality and waking personality are opposites, he's not the type for confrontation or anger with friends. There is no bad blood between us either. His general personality is laid back and relaxed, I'm not sure what else I could add. I still don't think he represented himself in the dream, but possibly something else. And again, his anger in the dream only brought mild confusion from me. I wasn't worried, upset or angry back. To be honest though, out of all my friends I probably have the worst temper. It's not something I'm proud of, but I thought it might help to understand the dream better? "If Debo was a love or friend is no matter . . . " ^I'm male and Debo is male, I'm not homosexual. I don't mean to come off strong about it, but it caught me off guard to read this. Just setting the record straight for you mano. The women fighting - You said you thought the fact that they were women was significant. 9 1/2 out of 10 dream characters are women in my dreams though. Both women seemed powerful and fierce, almost inhuman. They were very tall and statuesque(not a word I usually use, but I couldn't think of any other way to say it). If they represented female aspects, I'd think they'd be the more dominant and aggressive ones. The character on the ledge is one of the most confusing parts, I couldn't make out gender, age, race or anything else. One thing I noticed was the long brown hair, and a big bulky army surplus jacket, visible just barely out of the shadow. . . No thinking back I remember the skin of their hand was half in the light too, it was a medium skin tone. You mentioned this image usually representing independence, and that seems to make sense. "If you lay this dream parallel with any part of your life does it follow a similar sequence of anger, resolution, and rebirth (or a fresh start, of some kind)." ^I can't think of any specific time in my life that this could relate to. "In reading your response I somehow am left with the notion that you still do not quite get what is being presented to you. Dreams are not always answers to problems. Sometimes they are acknowledgments of where the dreamer has been (emotionally due to real life situations) and the like. In some way there was turmoil albeit internal or even extenal but in some way it became both for you." ^There's no time I can remember of disappointing a friend or anything like that. Of course I could be wrong, but I think the emphasis on Debo in the beginning should be lifted. On waking, this is a part I almost overlooked. It never seemed to heavy important to me, even in the dream. Not to say that it's not important, but I don't feel like it drives the main focus of the dream. In the last paragraph, you talked about the exhaust fans representing the processes of the mind, and that they stopped during the struggle of the two women. It makes perfect sense, very good observation hermano. Thank you again for continuing to help me try to make sense of this dream, and putting up with all my questions. - Manny |
