Dream about my dead father

Hi guys. It's nice to meet you. I have had two recurring dreams and have always wondered if they meant anything. Then I found this site. I will ask about one of them here, if you don't mind.

My father was killed by an armed robber in 1984. I was overseas in the military and hadn't seen him for three and a half years. The robber came into his house, after my oldest sister left to bring her kid to school, shot him and took his watch, wallet and ring. My sister came home and found him dead. There was always suspicion that the person who shot him was someone who knew him, but we never found out who it was.

About a year after my father's death, I started having a recurring dream about him. This went on for more than a year, slowly decreasing till they stopped all together. The dream was this:

I would meet with my dad and we would go for a long walk. For some reason, there was always water in the dream. We walked on the beach, we walked along river banks, and we walked in the city but in front of a fountain. The water was always there, without fail, and there were no other people anywhere in the dreams.

The first time I met with him, we talked about things such as the family, how everyone was doing, and such. Then, I asked him who shot him. When I did, my dad stopped suddenly, looked at me with a disappointed look on his face (as if to say, Why did you have to ask that?" and then he faded away. I woke up crying.

As time went on, I found myself looking forward to getting to sleep because I knew there was a chance I might see my dad again. I did see him often. Each time I met with him, the desire to ask him who shot him would burn inside me, but I knew that asking meant he would disappear. I would hold off for as long as I could, getting longer with each dream as I got better at holding off, but in the end, I always asked, and I always got the disappointed look from him, and then he would fade away.

I haven't had the dream in nearly twenty years, but I still find myself remembering, wishing I could have it again, and wondering what it mean.

• If dreamt a dead gave him a law book or a holy book , means he will do much prayers.
• If dreamt a dead was selling his clothes means , that kind of cloth will be expensive.
• If dreamt was following an honest deceased person , he will follow his manner and way of life.
• If followed an immoral dead person means he will get ill.
• If dreamt a dead gave him something , he will receive an unexpected benefit.
• If gave him something eatable , he will have some livelihood.
• If dreamt a dead beat him, means a beneficial travel or will find something lost.
• If dreamt himself was dead and was beaten means he is a pure believer.

Great dream btw. I'll be giving you a biblical viewpoint of your dream if I may and what I'll say may or may not apply. Just a little background, the soul is made up of three areas (according to the bible), the mind, will, emotions. Often times our dreams are the windows into our soul so to speak and reveal what's there. In your case, a strong desire to know who killed your father, which explains why you asked the question at the end of each dream. The waters may represent trials or heartaches, instability since they weren't still waters (which on the flipside represent peaceful as in peace of mind/heart). I'm wondering if any dreams you've had recently have anymore water present in them? Hope this helps...God bless and strengthen you.

Well is study dreams. I have for many years. I was drawn into the subject by dreams which were undoubatbly premonitions of things about to happen. Yet now I concentrate on ordinary dreams. I understand the power of dreams and possible links to telepathy but I also realize that dreams do simply capture our feelings. Such feelings are entirely internal in origin. The dreams we have simply link to how the mind records thoughts and feelings

I find dreams about deceased people difficult because we can never truly say what a dream means. Who knows if we can talk to people who have passed on. So its really just speculation. I know premonitions exist but thats because you can in some way measure them. You have a dream and some real life situation seems to correspond.

You say you want to dream about your father. Well thats can often cause dreams. The dream links to sadness because thats the predominant emotion in your mind at the time. Dreams record your current emotions. Thats why they seem so powerlful. But which comes first the chicken or the egg. I think you get the dream merely because you wish to think about him.

I know this seems bleak and uninspiring as an explanation. I don't think that should necessarily be the case. It shows that he is important to you. Who knows I maybe wrong. At least some of the dreams will be entirely internal. We dreamabout things important to us. It proves that he meant something to you and continues to.

Dreams show how our very mind works. Of course you walk with him. In real life he always walks with you - because he signifies your roots. He helps define who you are. He was probably much loved as well as a father. How could you ever erase him from your mind.
