2nd and 3rd of many dreams

This one felt very meaningful and I'm still thinking about it.

I was on a horse , i was riding on an American saddle (something i have never done). I was not alone there was man riding beside me i think he was dressed like a cowboy.I thought i really should canter now ( a change up in stride and pace) and just as i did it i heard him say i think we should canter now and i felt pleased that i had done it before he told me to. we were on a wide track that went straight on or you could turn to the right ahead. Both looked ok and i thought i don't know which way we are going to go and as we turned right i remember being relieved that he knew.

We went to a wooden house it was like you see in some American films, we were on the roof and poured a bucket of soapy water over it then i had to find a way down and this is very scary for me as i don't like heights or feeling unsafe, i found foot holds and got down and we did it again at more houses and again i got down, i never saw him get down but remember thinking he always got down so i could to.

When i was on the last roof i thought how many more times have i got to go through this, i wasn't that bothered just tired of it.

If you are not American (and I suspect that you are not)...in which case the significance of the cowboy would be a subconscious thought, somewhat foreign to you...something that up until this point you are not completely aware of. The subconscious mind in reality is a part of you, one that shadows your every move. It is a part of you , a very special aspect within you, one that will take care of you and help you. It knows every little intricate move that you make as you go though your daily waking life because the cowboy represents your subconscious mind. The part of you that is your mentor and friend. It anticipates your every move because it is part of mind processes. The overall message that you are getting in this dream is, to slow down, pay attention to the subconscious mind. It is your mentor and friend and is there to protect you and it is a formal introduction to this part of you that you acknowledge by paying attention to your dreams. This type of dream is rather common among those who are starting to take notice of their dreams. It is through, dreams that the subconscious mind can bring things to consciousness (bring things that your waking or conscious mind may not be completely aware of) and so it is your protector. So slow down and pay attention, listen to your protector and friend, the subconscious mind.

Your second dream is so very nice. Now that you acknoweldge your subconscious mind it is there to help you. Remember I mentioned that it was your protector, mentor and friend? Well this is proof!
We all have fears, and overcoming of fears is priority one for the subconscious mind. Your dream is so classic. sailrmc thanks again for your thoughts. I did wonder if the cowboy was another part of me a part that could do things that i couldn't or some sort of guide there to help me with things i have to do.

All my life i have dreamt of scary situations were i have to climb over things and its so scary, i have never made it before , the dream either ends or i wont do the climb or take the step.

For example many years i dreamed periodically of a metal frame that i can only describe as looking like the top bit of the sidney harbour bridge, i was always trying to climb over this frame there was nothing else and i never could look down and i was always petrified.

More recently i dreamt i stepped out of a friends flat onto their deck it wasn't nice and i turned to go back in but this time the flat was slightly raised from the level of the deck and there was gap between that i would have to cross, they put out a blue sort of board thing for me to cross but i wouldn't. This dream is the first time i have ever done the climb and this was one reason i felt the dream was significant. Over 40 years of dreaming i can't do it and then out of the blue i do it.

It all feels very different.
