Last night I had an in depth dream that my sister slept with my boyfriend. It was very realistic and very painful. What could this possibly mean?

Most likely a dream that is giving you the perspective of pain that one can feel if someone close to you were to betray you.
This is part of what Carl Jung's identification of the minds process called "individuation".

Hi,
Your dream simply means that you're jellous of your sister. Your subconscious uses your feeling of jellousy to wake you up from your sleep.
If the dream happened near morning, it was a waking up dream, however if it happened in the middle of the night, there was some other cause.

I had a dream just like that after me and my boyfriend broke up and i told my sister about it and she cried because he did try to sleep with her
