Hi everyone, I'm new to the site & I really need help interpreting this 1 dream I keep having. I've had it a few times for about a year & it's always exactly the same...
I'm walking through a large field of long corn with both my arms out wide. I can hear someone calling my name in a muffled, eery kind of voice which gradually gets louder & as it gets louder I hear footsteps so I speed up towards a huge white building. As I'm walking towards it the building never seems to get any closer. The voice gets closer & I can hear it right behind me when suddenly the person saying my name touches me on the shoulder. I start to turn round but just before I see who the person is I wake up. Everything happens exactly the same way every time I have the dream & in perfect timing every time. It's a really clear dream & normally my dreams that are really clear eventually come true. Can someone please try & interpretate my dream for me! |

When a dreamer has a recurring dream, it is proof that the subconscious mind has something specific to say. It will continue to play the dream until you "get it".
The corn signifies good news that the subconscious mind wants or needs to share with you. The golden yellow of corn is a symbol of hope. It is likely a dream that is inviting you to pay attention to your dreams in hopes that you will translate them and find personal specific meaning. As well, you should pay attention to all of the details of the dream. It is highly likely that you are not remembering other stuff that is needed, in prior dreams OR either in dreams after the fact. sailrmc |

Hi there,
I also get the impression that your unconscious does seem to want to tell you something. The unconscious in dreams often appears as being "behind" the dreamer. Our normal view is forward, outward, but there is also the inner view which one can see if one "turns around" in his mind to see the meaning of dreams. A corn field often is a femine symbol of growth. "Corn" can be related to the Greek Goddess Demeter, which is the mother godess. The "white building" also seems to have a positive meaning. I think that if you pay more attention to your dreams, then there will come up additional messages which the unconsicous may want to tell you. Does this help/make sense? Good luck Hermes |

According to the book below here is what dreaming of corn fields means:
To dream of passing through a green and luxurious corn-field, and seeing full ears hanging heavily, denotes great wealth for the farmer. It denotes fine crops and rich harvest and harmony in the home. To the young it promises much happiness and true friends, but to see the ears blasted, denotes disappointments and bereavements. To see young corn newly ploughed, denotes favor with the powerful and coming success. To see it ripe, denotes fame and wealth. To see it cribbed, signifies that your highest desires will be realized. To see shelled corn, denotes wealthy combines and unstinted favors. Below is a description of why you are most likely hearing your name being called by eerie voices. I have had the same dream before, denoting always in these instances my failure or mistakes made in business dealings. To hear your name called in a dream by strange voices, denotes that your business will fall into a precarious state, and that strangers may lend you assistance, or you may fail to meet your obligations. Dream symbolism is most often hidden and concealed, of which is only revealed by my experiences from the book below. What may seam like a momentous and strange and important dream is most always just an ordinary dream symbol meant to be interpreted by ordinary means of dream interpretation. 10,000 Dreams Interpreted http://www.freewebtown.com/godisking...nterpreted.pdf |

Quote:
The main point of the dream is that it wakes you up! The sailient question is : why do you have to be woken up? Quote:
The dreams are probably based on one of your childhood experiences of walking through a cornfield, touching the ears of corn an feeling the tingle in your hands. Next time you have the dream, on waking take stock of how your body feels. I'm sure you will feel some part of your body tingling or feel some pain on waking. Cheers Wolfjk

Well to me the dream sounds as if you are finding yourself and your place in the world. You are more aware of who you are. You mention these clear dreams. Well some dreams can be premonitions in the ordinary sense. They can predict some event such as a car crash or incident. Others maybe entirely internal. They signify a change of mood within you. Do you feel as if you have become confident that dreams come true. Thats maybe how you feel as if you have found yourself.
But its really easy to misinterpret a dream. ------------------ One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions. During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten. During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture. Thank you everyone who replied. What you've all said does make sense & I will look out for certain things when I next have the dream & take everything you've told me on-board.
I will be using this site a lot more in the future! Thanks again, softie. |
