Default Explosion

New to the forum. I dream like most people do but never try to interpret them. I did as a child have the dream of falling but they seemed to go away. I have good dreams and bizzare dreams. I recently started taking a drug called Lexapro which have only taken a few doses but the other night I had this really bizzare incident, I was wakened by an explosion that felt so real. I really didn't see it just felt it in my body and it was extremely loud. Typically when I'm awakened by something startling my heart is racing but it wasn't this time but I was afraid to go back to sleep for it happening again. I have never experienced this before, has anyone else?

I cannot say that I have experienced this myself but from research and others dreams that I have evaluated through the years, in general, when this occurs (really any loud explosive noise), it is for the purpose of getting the dreamers attention. I know this is a broad meaning but this is the basis for such a sound.

So how do you evaluate such a dream. To narrow the possibilities and to directly find specific meaning one must look at fine details that were seen in the dream prior to the sound. Write down scene, people, props, colors, feelings...and then the sound typically happens just before or during the important message (or symbolism) as the case may be, is revealed.

Here is an example of the part the sound played in just one of my dreamers;

I once had a dreamer (a mom) who's children were young teens. The kids would climb a trellis to get to the roof, where they often hung out just after sunset.
The dreamer would have a realistic dream of her kids climbing the trellis, only the trellis was RED!! The color stood out in a big way. She had always told them that they would get hurt if they fell and finally quit telling them to stop climbing on the roof. She even in real life bought a ladder so at least it would be safe. In the dream they did not use the ladder nor did they use it in real life. Then her dreams showed the walkway as RED just as the trellis was painted. The dreams went on and on for weeks. After finally getting the full set of circumstances in addition as to how the dreamer felt about the color red, it was plain that it was a warning. Finally a circle with an X drawn in it appeared and I warned her that it looked as if someone was going to fall to that X. I suggested that she make sure that the kids did not climb to the roof any longer. She dismissed the suggestion. The night after she dismissed the suggestion the X turned to an outline of a body in the circle, followed by a huge BOOM!
She decided to tell the kids to stop climbing one more time. That night a huge explosive sound was heard in her dream. Finally the next night a child fell, as she climbed the trellis. She was hurt badly.
From then on the kids no longer climbed and the dreams stopped.

So this instance alone is a good example of the sound indicating a blow up or tragedy!
I could not call this a precognitive dream (because it was just common sense) and she simply intuited that someday someone was bound to get hurt.
Even though she intuited the outcome she was not paying attention to the dreams and the subconscious mind added startling sound to make sure that it could no longer be ignored.

Hi,
It is quite normal to hear bangs, knockin, shouts, or someone call your name in the first half hour of sleep. It is more common if you go to bed tired, stressed or over excited.
Taking some drugs makes dreams more vivid and more bizzare sometimes. There is a reason for it.
If the explosin came on suddenly in early sleep, it is likely that the Lexapro made it more laud.
Cheers Wolfjk

Dreams do help us monitor our own bodies as welll as sounds during sleep. So if your body does detect some strange feelings then it will draw attention to them in dreams. the dreams are symbolic of how you feel. An explosion is showing thaT you felt a major effect to your system.

------------------------
When you get a dream think carefully about which direction you are currently looking. Are you looking back towards yesterday and something that happened and how you reacted. Or are you looking forward to the day to come. If you are looking forward then its likely the dream is about some thoughts or fears about the day to come.

These pages are especially helpful in showing you how to interpret dreams
