The doctor left me in a quandry

I had a rather bizarre dream last night and would like to hear what others may think.

Some background: I had a knee surgery 7 weeks ago to reconstruct my ACL and lateral meniscus as well as clean up some of the cartilage damage I did playing soccer. The surgery itself actually instigated a rather large rift in my marriage, which was already in high stress mode because we have been separated, me working in one location and her living in our house trying to sell it.

So the dream......

I was sitting in the bedroom of the house that I grew up in. It was my parents bedroom and I was alone. My orthopedic doctor came in to check my knee. He sat down on the side of the bed with me and checked my knee to see how it was healing and for flexibility. He has a warm friendly smile. He was pleased with the progress. I remember being quite happy. And then he says, "Looks good and now we just have to fix that other problem of yours" and walks into my parents old bathroom. And I say, "What problem is that?", and I sort of stare up at the ceiling...waiting for a response. The ceiling was white and textured and I remember seeing the air conditioning vent as well. The room was light, but I could see the bathroom light coming out into the bedroom as well. And from the bathroom the doctor says, "Well after I am done taking a shower, I can tell you about it. It's like you have been hit in the head by a tree." I say, "What?" And he says, "Well, you know a tree branches out in more than one direction?" and he shuts the bathroom door and then the shower turns on. I lay my head down on the pillow, looking over at the light creeping out from around the closed bathroom door, listening to the running water. And I try to figure out what that means, waiting eagerly for him to come out and tell me what that is supposed to mean.....and then my darn alarm goes off and wakes me up. Why is the doctor taking a shower in my house? What exactly does he mean? Dang I wish I could have slept, just a little longer.

I think the other "problem" in your dream is that of the strain on your marriage.
The bedroom represents intimacy. Your parents' bedroom may represent a desire to have your own family.
The doctor went into the bathroom. The bathroom represents a part of you that needs "relief," whether it's from your injury, or healing in your marriage. (The doctor could also mean healing.)
He said a tree hit you on your head. A tree may mean security, strength, and your goals. A fallen tree may mean unreached goals, or an imbalance in your life.
