Disturbing Dream. Please Help.

Hello to all!

I had a really disturbing dream a few nights ago, and now i just cant shake it off!

Here is the dream:

I was at work and something happened that upset me (not sure what) so i went into the cleaners office and one of the other members of staff; an older lady was in there, i started to cry and she was being very nice and understanding. I was led with my head on her lap and she was stroking my hair (nothing sexual just like a mother comforting her child sort of thing) anyway (and this is the disturbing bit) she put her hand into my underware. I froze and then freaked out. I then woke up.

End of dream!

Ok this has really freaked me out, im a 24 year old female and this lady is someone who i know at work. I get on very well with her, she is 59 and we have a sort of grandmother/granddaughter relationship. This dream has embarrased me and i havent seen her at work since as she is on holiday but i feel very odd about the situation and as stupid as it sounds i also feel violated even though i know it was a dream!

Any thoughts?

Hi,
If you have a disturbing dream, there must by a reason for it! You needed to be woken from your sleep for some reason. The subconscious mind uses strange and sometimes shocking ideas to wake the sleeper! My guess is that your subconscious used the sexual approach to wake you, as in real life it would have been most unlikely to happen.
Unfortunately the subconscious mind has no moral scrooples about taboos. If an idea works, be it ever so unlikely or shocking, it will use it to wake you up!
The dream could have been caused by some morbid thoughts coming into your mind while you slept, or it could have been just a bad waking dream!
You should not worry about it. Dreams do their work while they're being dreamt. You should not attach any blame to your old lady friend.

My suspicion is that this matronly woman may have lesbian tendencies which you recognise (or suspect) and hence the dream. It could be that when the opportunity arises she moves into your personal space (gets close to you). It is not predictive; it is simply your underling apprehension or concern manifesting themselves in your dream.

Maybe the dream symbolizes your own attitude towards confiding. You do not like to be seen to be weak. That if you show how badly things are then it shows weakness... you do not want to show such vulnerability.

Symbolic for the fact that she (who represents the subconscious mind) is about to get down to the bottom of things...about to get to the cause of your unhappiness.
It is highly unlikely that the dream would have gone any further after her hand got to where it went in your dream. Even in molestation cases, I have not witnessed this...if the purpose was trying to indicate that you were molested it likely would have been presented differently.
For this reason I think that your subconscious mind will rethink a way to convey the message, one that will not cause you to wake. Often when an approach to convey a message is so startling that the dreamer wakes up, the mind comes back with something else. Now that it has your attention you might want to start a dream diary, this will help you connect all of the dreams and gain broad base knowledge of what is trying to be conveyed.
