Default Analysis needed: Metamorphisis Dream

Ok so I had this dream about 3 nights ago and I just cannot get it out of my head! I would really appreaciate anyones help to analyze this dream or tell me what it might symbolize or mean. Here goes:

I was standing inside the house (which really was my childhood house I grew up in) and I was watching my 4 year old son, Layton, play outside. I watched my son morph into a bird and fly up and play on a tree branch for awhile before flying back down to the ground. The metamorphisis didn't suprise me at all, in the dream it was as if I already knew my son could do this. All of a sudden a duck comes up to my son (who is a bird) and they both start sspreading their winds very wide as if to try an scare each other off. After they went around in circles for a while my son finally morphed back into himself and ran inside. I opened the door for him and just as he got into the house I looked back at the duck and all of a sudden it morphed into my son as well! Now the "duck" (who has morphed into my son) tries running into the house as well. I try to shut the door on it but it manages to get it's arm and head in and it's crying. All of a sudden I opened the door because this thing looked just like my son and I couldn't shut the door on my son! So now I have 2 sons (almost twins as you will) but I clearly can tell the difference between my REAL son and the duck that morphed into my son.

I didn't know what to do so I put them both into the stroller and went to the playground across the street and by this time I was with a friend. I was telling her what happened like, "Look at it! You know how Layton can morph into birds. Well that thing (pointing to the Son that was a duck) is a duck! It just morphed into Layton and now I don't know what to do. I just remember pushing both of them on the swings as I was telling my frind about this. I came to the conclusion that the duck would eventually morph back into a duck and I will leave it alone (I couldn't leave it while it looked like my son in human form!)

Somehow the next "scene" my dream cut to was in a house. And I still had both my real son, and the fake son. I got the feeling it was weeks later and I was thinking that I don't think the fake son will EVER morph back into the duck. But all of a sudden I was welcome to the idea of having 2 "Layton's" and by the end of the dream I seemed to have accepted this idea.

So that's it....and it's been bugging me for days yet. Anyone out there than can help me understand what this crazy dream means????

Default A Possibility

Childhood homes are links to past thoughts and emotions, hence your dream begins with thoughts or feelings from the past.

You are fully capable of dealing with emotional issues from your past in spite of your desire to want to escape them. You feel the need to detach in order to get a clearer view on the situation. Part of you feels guilty for not wanting to take on the added responsibilities in your life and part of you is hoping that whatever it is it will go away in its own time and that you will not have to deal with it (denial). However, the only way to your future is through the acceptance of your past thoughts, emotions, or actions.

Overall it sounds like you are having trouble adjusting to being an adult, living in an adult world and having others depend on you. You desire a more carefree existence and time spent alone but are always pulled back to your day to day obligations and responsibilities and having to care for others. Perhaps you long for someone to take care of you for it sounds like you feel as if you have to go it alone. Perhaps you lack a support network to help you through difficult times.

Although you are experiencing difficult times right now the dream holds the promise that things will get better in a few weeks. Somehow you will come to terms with your life and will find enjoyment instead of fear in your day to day living.

Wow so much you said makes a lot of sense. How did you get all of that. Let me give you a little bit of a background.. My son (who is featured in the dream) was diagnosed with Autism a little over a year ago and I am feeling very overwhelmed.

You say

I am hoping my son will grow out of his Autism and will live a "normal" life one day. I do find it very burdensom and lately it has been very hard at home. Maybe deep down I know that he will always have "special needs" and this dream is telling me it's time to accept it and try to cope with the diagnosis. One of my original theories about this dream is that I have my perfect son and then along comes my son with something I didn't want... "the duck" represents the autism coming in my life and I need to accept it. almost like my son has 2 sides to him....

This also very true! I almost feel like his disability is all I have time to focus on lately and I can't just relax. Every moment is tending to him and something he's gettin into, throwing a fit about, etc.

Thank you so much for your insight! It is very appreciated and has givin me much more to think about!

As a species we are human animals and it appears that this feature, of being an animal, has become apparent to you as you manage, care, and observe your son's developing behaviour. This realisation has manifested itself in your dream. It is probably nothing other than becoming aware of our ancient beginnings through watching your son grow.

PS Having just read your post above I can see the connection, which you described, between the real and fictional son, a thought that had escaped me.

Monica,
Interesting dream there! But when I read your dream I had a couple different thoughts from what other people have already said which if doesn't make sense by all means reject. From a biblical viewpoint, God is revealing something clearly to you through this dream (looking out through window). Your son turns into a bird, which represents God's spirit in him, which is meant to be uninhibited and free as a child-like spirit should be. He is given a hard time by this duck, which can represent some irritation and nuisance, and evidently something fighting against him. Your real son runs into the house for safety and for a moment you resist the other boy only later to accept him in as well. Your son has the potential through God's eyes to be made whole and healed, all it takes is trusting in God and waiting on His perfect timing for that to come to pass. Don't accept or settle for anything the enemy (devil) has brought into your sons life, but do spiritual battle for him by praying over him and by faith seeing him healed and well. There is a verse in the bible that I'm reminded of as I type this and its in John 8 "Whom the son sets free is free indeed." Another verse quotes "Submit to God, resist the enemy, and he will flee from you." Again I prayerfully submit this reply to you which hopefully helped out, and if not feel free to reject...God bless u and your son richly!!

Hi,
Your son is a sample of his father.
Turning into bird and flying means a travel,
A duck if white means a rich woman ,If in colors means some money.
They ( His father and the rich woman) will have a quarrel.
Again that woman will cause a sorrow another son means a sorrow.
A swing means a travel again.

approximate interpretation time table: Dreams at noon or exactly at midnight( In the summer time 13 at noon and 1 midnight else at 12)in the same day if past a few minutes, a few days later. Dreams at 10-11 in the morning in 15-30 days later. Also dreams at 3-4 in the evening in 1-2 months .Dreams in the sunset mostly are not truthful and are messed, they have no interpretations, Dreams at 4-5 in the morning in a few days to 2 months some dreams in the holy books( Josef dream of kneeling the sun and the moon and 11 stars)was interpreted after 20 years and other dreams of the Pharaoh's prisoners interpreted in the same day and after 7 years. Dream of Pharaoh about the 7 thin cows and 7 fat cows interpreted from the next year to 14 years. Also dreams in 6th of the month will interpret after 1-2 days, in 9th at the same day, in 10th after 20 days, in 13th after 9 days in 14th after 26 days and in 15th after 3 days, in 16th after 2 days and in 28th ,29th ,30th in the same day, but these are solar (Persian months and you should refer to a calendar or convert them) . Of course there are different kinds of dreams , like messy dreams which have no interpretations or deja vu dreams, or psychological dreams or dreams which are caused by bad food or drinks.
