Red book.
My male friend recently had a dream with me in it in which I was getting frustrated and shouting at him, whilst waving a red book in my hand. Then I slammed the red book onto the table and he woke up as that happened as if it were a nightmare?

It does feel as if he thinks you are a tad bossy or critical to those who fail to carry out tasks properly. If the red book has no specific connection to you both then it could represent the rule book and his embarrassment at being told (or possibly fear of being told) by yourself that he is not doing something properly.

The red book, as taken out of the context show in your dream shows depicts anger, extreme anger. His subconscious mind detects that you are not only angry but that you seem to have a history of being angry.

Exactly...perhaps you are not angry but it is your male friend's perception that you are angry...or you will become angryIt is his dream. Since this is someone else's dream about you (if there was more to the dream that he did not tell you), then your friend's subconscious mind is telling him that you will become angry.
