So I'm on the toilet in my dream and when I'm finished I look down into the toilet and see it is full of tiny minnows feeding off my feces. I assume I have pooped the minnows out of my body and that they were expelled with the feces. The longer I stand there watching the more I see they are actually feeding off the feces.
What the heck does this mean? |

It looks as if others are capitalising on what you discard. There could be sexual undertones here that are not readily deciphered without knowing more of your circumstances. Would you have rejected a boyfriend lately?

Thank you for taking the time to ponder this dream. It's not exactly a first for me to have such a bewildering dream; however, it is the first time I've pooped out something live such as a school of fish.
To Niunia: I most definitely do not feel unattractive but can say with humble confidence I know I am attractive though perhaps not to all. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I do like this interpretation. Rather unique. To Jennings: Interesting how you related the minnows feeding off the feces to others capitalizing on my waste. I will most definitely ponder this more. Haven't rejected any boyfriends or husbands lately LOL! Thanks for the insights. To Wolfjk: Truth be known I was more fascinated than disgusted in my dream. Not one ounce of repulsion, though I suppose that would have been a more natural emotion. But hey, it's not everyday I poop out a school of minnows in my dreams LOL! That was the most fascinating part of the dream. The fact that the minnows proceeded to devour the feces was even more intriguing. I ate and drank nothing out of the ordinary. And no I don't drink alcohol or indulge in drugs of any kind. In fact, I'm a health nut. I shared the dream with my husband who suggested it might have something to do with spiritual, emotional, mental and physical cleansing. I suffer from various illnesses and have done a complete about-face this past year including a complete overhaul in my diet, exercise regime and the company I keep. I participate in regular fasting and have recently become transformed from being a vegetarian to being a complete vegan. Too, being somewhat environmentally conscientious most of my life, I try to limit the waste I put back into the environment by reducing, reusing and recycling. I suppose there might be some connection to all this. I do know feces is usually connected to waste or things that need to be discarded. Yet feces is also associated to money, and I admit I'm in some leaner times right now. From my understanding fish are usually indicative of spiritual growth and transformation, the unconscious mind, and health. The fact that the water was so clear and the fish were swimming might therefore suggest insights of some sort. Perhaps. Maybe it has something to do with wealth and personal power. Gee, maybe it's saying I spend more than I earn. Hmm. That would account for the leaner times right now. Anyway, thanks again for all your insights. I'm sure if I sit quietly and meditate on this it will become more clear. |

well dreams about faces often symbolize the things that are really frustrating us. What has been frustrating you?
---------------------------------- Freud and many other dream analyzers tend to emphasise deep seated issues as the causes of dreams. But really most dreams link to current events. Of course if you were involved in a car accident the day before then thats a current event. In the same way if you were thinking about someone the day before then thats an event. Maybe that person has been a little bit quiet. Thats an event in your mind and could easily cause a dream. Some deep seated issues can cause dreams. Take soldiers who have fought in Iraq. The trauma of war can have a deep impact on soldiers. They will think about tricky situations every day. Soldiers who fought in Fallujah have reported thinking about that battle every day. In that sense each and every day that battle takes place each and every day. It is in effect an event. Its shaping and reshaping that persons thinking all the time. So really look at what is happening in your mind on a daily basis. If some deep trauma is still in your mind during the day it will dominate your thinking at night time. Dreams merely reflect the same issues that dominate your day time thinking. Now that you have disclosed more about yourself you have described the geneses of your dream; it is in connection with your dietetic changes and the views which you currently hold. The message that comes across with more than a resounding tinkle is your inner-self telling you that your are on the wrong diet. It is almost as if your body is telling you that your stomach is carnivorous and not herbivorous. In a way your 'better self' is telling you that your are building up for a big let down. An interesting analogy.

These are some really awesome comments. Thank you!
To Wolfjk: You sayid, "Something unusual happened in your sleep. A strange dream like yours must have a cause!" Funny. I have similar thoughts about this. Though I must confess I got a good laugh out of your last statement, "However some health supplements can cause strange dreams especially if they smell like S...!" I will, however, keep this in mind as I'm sure there is some truth to it. I don't suppose we'll ever truly know the extent of bodily reactions to even the smallest of things. Thanks for the insights. To unclesirbobbyrobson: Funny how you should bring up things that might cause frustrations. I have been somewhat conscientious about work and money as I am off work due to an ongoing injury from February 12th. I returned to work for two weeks but because I wasn't completely healed have had to go back into doctor's care. I'm probably off work for the another four to eight weeks and there is no word as to whether or not I'll receive incoming money. Hence, why I'm in leaner times right now. Though, as always, my faith is insurmountable and I'm confident in a positive resolve for all parties concerned. Thanks for bringing this detail to my attention. Greatly appreciated. To Jennings: Intuition tells me you are bang on the money when you say, "It is in connection with your dietetic changes and the views which you currently hold." And there is even truth to having been on the wrong diet. I have suffered from Celiac's disease most of my life but because I didn't know what was wrong or how to prevent the illness I continued to eat all the foods that harmed me. It has only been in the past year that I've made strong changes that have helped. My most recent changes of eliminating dairy, fish, eggs, and chicken is because I know dairy and eggs cause my body to have the same reactions as it does to wheat. I really like this statement in your suggestion of being on the wrong diet, "It is almost as if your body is telling you that your stomach is carnivorous and not herbivorous" and assure you I will ponder this deeply. Although there may be truth to this, after re-reading the dream and your insights, I do see another possibility. I have taken notice of the fact that the fish were alive when expelled from the body. Had I expelled dead or rotten fish the relevancy of your statement would ring true. However, the fish swam their way through the intestinal tract living in an oxygen rich environment and consuming the vegetative food waste I consume which might indicate that my latest choice of becoming vegan might actually good for me. Too, there is the possibility that because fish are high in omega 3's and 6's, the dream might be calling my attention to my body getting too much of these, hence why I'm expelling them. I must seriously consider your notion of building up for a big let-down, though I'm not sure how or why. Regardless, you have all contributed vital information that has helped me to see this dream from alternative perspectives with insights I may not have otherwise received. Thank you for helping me to clarify some of the possibilities. I will not dismiss anything you've all said but will simply note it just in case. Thanks again! Greatly appreciated. |
