Lately I've been dreaming of disfigured hands. What does this mean?

In the first dream, i learned that I would have to have my right hand removed and replaced with a fake useless plastic hand or a hook. I'm very sad when i learned this and argue with the doctors to leave me alone. If it's a choice between keeping my hand and dying, or getting the surgery and leading a relatively normal life, I chose to keep my hand.

The Second dream, my sister had severely cut herself and her wound was starting to change colours. I told her that there was a study that said that we could grow back our hand if we gave it enough time. So she cut off her hand. A few months later i noticed that the stub was healed over and I felt really badly for having suggested the dumb idea. She didn't seem bothered by it.

In my waking hours the idea of such a disfigurement actually makes me very depressed, but i can't help but feel that they represent something in my life and I can't seem to figure out what that is.

It seems you are worried about your hands. Perhaps you are frightened of arthritis. However your dreams could be triggered by some pain in your hands that comes on while you sleep.
If you have carpal tunnell syndrome, it the pain comes on while you sleep. If the dreams keep repeating you should have your hands checked out with your doctor.
