Default Cutting off a dogs leg??

Hello to everyone, this is my first post. I've been fascinated with dreams ever since I learned that we can use them as tools to grow.

I often have strange vivid dreams that I try to understand and if I don't I just let it be. This one here was a bit stranger than usual so I thought I would seek a bit of feedback and this forum appears to be a good place to do so.

So the only details that I remember are the following: I was holding a white dog, something like a small poodle with curly hair on a vet's table. The vet was there (a girl) with me getting tools ready and asking me to hold the dog tightly. I knew the vet was getting ready to operate on the dog and it made me quite sad but I also knew that it was something that needed to be done. So the vet started cutting off the dog's two front legs. I was crying but I knew that the legs would grow back. Once the legs were off, I could see the bone but it wasn't bleeding profusely like you would expect it to... I then woke up...

This dream was very strange to me. I'm not a morbid person and I don't enjoy watching surgeries and stuff like that. Does anyone have an idea of what this could possibly symbolize?

Thank you very much in advance for you time!!

Hugues

Hi,
A dog means a person and cutting his legs doesn't mean good, someone will lose his legs.

Dog is interpreted as an ignoble but kind enemy.
If dreamt a dog barked at him means an enemy will tell him a rude word.
If dreamt a dog bit him someone will hurt him or won't pay his money.
If dreamt his cloth was polluted with a dog mouth water means someone will annoy him.
If dreamt a dog tore his cloth means will have a loss.
If dreamt was eating dog meat means he will repel an enemy by another one.
If dreamt gave a piece of bread or something else to a dog means his sustenance will increase.
If dreamt had sex with a dog means an enemy will have views on him.
If dreamt a dog leaned on him means he will trust to an ignoble person and will help him at work.
If dreamt he was drinking dog milk means he will have a big fear and probably will fight with someone.
If dreamt a dog was running away from him means the enemy is scared of him and is careful.
If dreamt a she-dog entered his house means he will acquaint an ignoble woman.
If dreamt was hunting with a dog means he will receive a benefit from someone who claims for science.
If dreamt was eating a hunt dog meat means will receive a heritage.
If dreamt avoided from a hunt dog means he will separate a useful enemy.
Dog may also mean : 1- enemy 2- a scientist who doesn't act on his knowledge 3- a covetous governor 4- a tale bearer.

Your dream has to do with self analysis (by the subconscious mind). It comes to the conclusion that it is time to watch the direction that you are going with your life regarding either moodiness (that is unpredictable) OR unconditional love that you might dole out.

The dream is not precise enough for an outsider like me to determine which aspect of you needs inspection. Either way you are needing to cut back and grow anew one of these two aspects of your personality as it is being questioned by the subconscious mind.
Time to become more aware of your waking life direction. More precisely, it is time to change your direction of waking life choices, time to start anew!

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I doubt that someone will lose their legs. The fact that I knew in my dream that the legs would grow again indicates to me that this is more symbolic than something that would actually happen to someone. I do appreciate your reply Varzandeh.

Sailrmc, you seem to have hit the nail on the head. In a nutshell I have recently met a very special person with whom I could have a good nurturing friendship but in general I have trust issues with people and I have a hard time letting that person get close to me because of his abilities (he's a very strong psychic). Those trust issues caused certain problems on a couple of occasions between both of us and if I'm not carefull I could lose the opportunity to establish that friendship. I feel that this dream is sort of telling me to cut those trust issues away because they're not needed in this friendship and I need to make room for it since it offers so much to both of us.

Again, I thank both of you and feel like I understand it much better...

Hi again,
Yes, dreams are symbolic, if you had seen a person lost his/her legs in the dream would mean losing money or a travel.
But in the dreams animals are certain people with the same charactristics, and this is what scares me...
Please be prudent and think that it may be a warning.
If you help a few homeless people and only one of them prays with his her heart , the possible calamity may pass over.

Good luck to you.

approximate interpretation time table: Dreams at noon or exactly at midnight( In the summer time 13 at noon and 1 midnight else at 12)in the same day if past a few minutes, a few days later. Dreams at 10-11 in the morning in 15-30 days later. Also dreams at 3-4 in the evening in 1-2 months .Dreams in the sunset mostly are not truthful and are messed, they have no interpretations, Dreams at 4-5 in the morning in a few days to 2 months some dreams in the holy books( Josef dream of kneeling the sun and the moon and 11 stars)was interpreted after 20 years and other dreams of the Pharaoh's prisoners interpreted in the same day and after 7 years. Dream of Pharaoh about the 7 thin cows and 7 fat cows interpreted from the next year to 14 years. Also dreams in 6th of the month will interpret after 1-2 days, in 9th at the same day, in 10th after 20 days, in 13th after 9 days in 14th after 26 days and in 15th after 3 days, in 16th after 2 days and in 28th ,29th ,30th in the same day, but these are solar (Persian months and you should refer to a calendar or convert them) . Of course there are different kinds of dreams , like messy dreams which have no interpretations or deja vu dreams, or psychological dreams or dreams which are caused by bad food or drinks.

Well sometimes dreams are symbolic and those symbols need interpreting. Yet other times dream symbols are not as important as thought. Here we have a dream symbol... dog having its legs cut off. Is that really a dream symbol. Maybe - its always difficult to tell with dreams.

Maybe the dreams most important feature are particular conclusions. In the dream you notice that the legs will grow back. It seems like such an important thing yet that pain caused will be so worth while. Try to see how such a theme relates to real life. That maybe its importance.

------------------------
Many people write dream diaries. But actually it would be better if they wrote a normal diary. A diary is basically the highlights of the previous day and the things that are important to you. Dreams are exactly the same. Once understood they would symbolize those key moments and turning points in your feelings. So instead of interpreting the dreams try first to guess what the most likely issues are that you would dream about. Think of exactly the same things that you would write in a diary. Once decoded the dreams would symbolize exactly what you think on the key subjects dominating your mind. Think of quotes that capture your feelings such as "my father seems very quiet. I think that something is very wrong. He often starts going quiet when something happens". You may not be able to understand the exact nature of the symbols.
