Last night I dreamt I was at a party and at the party i couldnt see anyones face besides one girl, her name was tina (I neither know, nor have ever known anyone named tina in my life). At this party I became aware that I could be dreaming so I took photos of tina on my phone. obviously if the photos werent there the next day then i was dreaming. the photos were usually of her and a couple of faceless people. now I wake up (still dreaming) and look at my phone and the photos are there and i can scroll through them. I see a reflection in the phones screen of tinas face, not wanting to look away i reach back and I can feel her arm (I swear in this dream when this happens) so she must be real! I spend some time with her, not sure what we did, but again I wake up and shes lying there. by now ive realised this was a dream, and i tell her i wish i could stay here with you forever and she tells me i can. A sort of loading bar appears and it gradually fills. In the dream I know that when that bar fills I will enter a coma and i can stay in the dream. Then the phone in my flat started ringing and i actualyl woke up. Any insights?

Hello sdean,
For a couple of reasons I will post a copy of a dream that I looked into just a while back (or at least my evaluation of it). You are not alone, in having this type of dream. I know that the concept of a dream guide might be new to you but I assure you that through the past five or so years I have had many dreamers who are getting the come on by the subconscious mind. Chapters could be written about this role player cast by the mind who can bring emotions to intensities that are incomprehensible. The mind wants to capture a life long relationship with you the dreamer and this is it's way to initially turn your head. Judging from your post I would say that your mind has done just that. If you like what you saw and felt just wait but after awhile, if this was a true dream guide this character will seem more like a best friend, but what she represents will stay with your forever. You see this all represents the bond that is being built with the subconscious mind (same as dreaming mind). See what you think and I will be happy to answer any questions if you wish. You may want to find the actual post on this site...to see the dream that in ways is similar to yours. Here it is a copy and paste of my evaluation of that dream. Katydid, You may be sorry that you asked this question and then again maybe not, I have just finished this post and it is a long one. For those of you who wonder who that incredible beautiful person is in your dream, or how a kiss could possibly ever feel like the one that you have just had in yoru dream, Or how such a crazy character or item could possibly appear in your dream, read on. I think it will be worth it. I have spent many years reading and responding to dreamers and Dream Guides are sooooooooo very important and so mysterious at first. So much can be said about a dream guide. The specifics could take many pages but I will narrow it down. A dream guide is a person and or thing (role player in your dream) whose purpose is to entice, cajole, or escort the dreamer to the part of the dream that contains the overall intended purpose. The subconscious mind knows you better than any other person on the planet. It not only knows of the dreamers experiences but it knows how the dreamer felt about each experience. With this said, consider this strategy of the subconscious mind. Part of it's job is to bring things to consciousness through dreams from the subconscious. This can be for many reasons...including, safety, general awareness, mentorship, spiritual matters etc. etc. etc. When the dreamer just does not get the message being sent, or understand the concept of to how to relate dream messages to conscious awareness the dreaming mind often introduces a "dream guide". The dream guide (when appearing as a person) is one that the subconscious mind knows will get the dreamers attention. Remember it know every like and dislike of the dreamer. It knows what features, attract the dreamer. There are, so very many types of dream guides just as there are so many different types of people on the planet...but there are basic similar "types" that seem to appear over and over (just because we as a species are somewhat universal...or at least regional...in nature). Could go on for chapters here but, well you know...time attention span and space are constraints. Some usual types. There is the type that is incredibly attractive to the dreamer! (probably the most common). The mind, using the features and traits that it has accumulated from information gathered from the way that our interest is peaked in the real life, formulates (or builds) a super guide that it knows, without a doubt, the dreamer would follow anywhere and under any circumstances. This guide can be of any stature or beauty or behavior because we all are different in our likes and dislikes but make no mistake...we would follow this dream guide anywhere she or he went, regardless of the circumstances presented. So this outrageous beauty simply appears in our dream, and we are instantly bonded, and follow the dream guide to the scene in the dream that contains the important and intended meaning. When the dreamer gets to this place or event they are sidetracked and often the dream guide vanishes or simply walks away. Often this dream guide will offer a kiss to the dreamer, symbolizing the lifelong commitment of the subconscious mind to the dreamer. The "physical activity or passion) never goes further than a kiss and incredible cuddling. Many times the dreamer is lost, so to speak (too engrossed in the physical action and the dream simply ends or the dream guide finds and excuse to exit. What ever happens, the dreamer is totally head over heals...The kiss is typically one that has intensity never experienced in real life...this is because the subconscious mind pulls out all of the stops and incorporates all feelings and emotions into the physical contact. Now, typically this type of dream guide has a clue as to "where it comes from" Sometimes extremely light skin with very dark features and typically dark clothing. Light skin symbolic of the subconscious mind and the fact that it is often recognized for operating in the dark of night! So no pigment, and dark clothes etc. Other features that appear on dream guides that are not part of the outrageously beautiful type are...Sometimes very sandy brown hair, mostly curly others traits that are giveaways are characters that are extremely tall in stature (again with dark clothes, hats, shoes etc). bearded strangers, characters with black rimmed, over sized glasses or ones with large magnifying glass. There are sometimes guides that are not people but more things that interest the dreamer...give me a sailing yacht in a dream and I will find a way to get aboard or I will simply die trying. This brings me back to the point of the mind doing too good of a job of getting the dreamers interest. Sometimes the dreamer is too sidetracked by the guide in a dream and the dreamer can simply not pay attention to anything in the way of meaning (he just gets stuck on the dream guide, beit person or prop) in which case the dream typically ceases. This is when dreamers email me and say that they had met the "person of their dreams" (pun intended). Some actually go into days of anxiety wondering if they will ever see that person again etc. In this case the mind has done too fine of a job in getting their interest. Typically the subconscious mind tries again in another night, in another way to get the dreamer to the intended message. Other dream guides...are often best friends, people who the dreamer highly respects (including actors, teachers, mentors, grandparents or family members departed and not). Many of these guides are clues to where the dream is going to go (a college prof might be selected because a message of highest importance is to be delivered), (a grandparent, showing that the message is one that shows that wisdom it's message, is to be conveyed) etc etc etc. In this rather short explanation (relative to what it could be), I have not been able to put a dent in how dream guides can be easily recognized but I hope that I have shown the strategy and determination that the mind comes to us with, in hopes of getting it's important messages across. One more thing...Ok so you thought I was finished...but wait there's more!! Consider any person or thing that leads you in any way in a dream, to be a dream guide. Remember, upon waking...what it was that the dream guide was pointing out or leading you to. As one gets better at realizing the important aspects of their dreams, and paying attention to them dream guides become rather infrequent in their appearances. Also consider the many occasions where a dream guide leads you to another dream guide who leads you to the meaning....all done to keep the attention of the dreamer. Remember anything to get the dreamer to the message!! This is the purpose. For those who have made it to this point...my appreciation...and happy dreaming. sailrmc Digg this Post!Add Post to del.icio.usBookmark Post in TechnoratiFurl this Post! I believe that she is your dream guide, incredibly beautiful or interesting beyond belief and born of your mind. You mind has found your hot button. As I have mentioned, many go for days, weeks and sometime months wondering, who could this person could be? There have been those who actually go into a sort of depression because they cannot bring themselves to see her again in their dream. I have found, both first hand and from thousands of dreams over the years that the mind is often relentless in it's approach to have it's subconscious messages realized and acknowledged. If you can follow her, then pay attention to fine detail when she stops or points. There is undoubtedly a message to be conveyed. When you get to that point in your dream, she will likely slip away! There are other ways to deal with her but not advised. The key, is to do what I have mentioned and then the following night acknowledge that you understand who she is (being a dream guide, having been sent for a reason). Now that you understand her role she will not likely appear with the same "intensity" as before if you see her at all, again. That is unless you stop paying attention to your dreams. sailrmc Digg this Post!Add Post to del.icio.usBookmark Post in TechnoratiFurl this Post! Reply With Quote |

Well, from reading both of those I can see definite similarities to Tina in the persona of the dream guide, but cant think of anything that actually makes her one. In your reply it says that this dream guide is for me to follow, but the dream took place in two places: the party and my room. The room I have at university. She was definitely "the girl of my dreams" as it said in your post but she didnt seem to be leading me anywhere, in fact when i realised it was a dream she encouraged me to stay where i was. Thanks for the reply though but her being a dream guide seems a bit odd if she wasnt taking me anywhere. we just hung around each other for awhile. no kissing or anything. lying down in the bed together was all.
Just came to me on a second readthrough, why would my (or anyones) subconcious feel such a need to bond? I've no idea if thats an opinion or a studied fact or anything, just curious why it would feel the need to be attached to me when surely its already part of my mind? Each one is a bit different. Early on, there is the Wow of the awareness, and in following dreams, this is when she will lead. Watch and if she moves next time, I assure you will follow.
Be prepared to pay attention when she stops because the meaning of your dream will be in your midst. It is then that she will either just stand aside OR she will vanish. Very few new to this concept see it at first but keep your eyes peeled. Not all kiss, immediately...some seem to have the Wow factor but seem almost like someone that the dreamer knows...some actually feel like a best friend after a while. This is by design. keep an open mind and see what happens. regards, sailrmc |

if u know ur dreaming why not take that opportunity to create your own dream, one time i realised i was dreaming and i made my self fly, it was like an out of body experiece, i also had a companion she could probably be the dream guide sailr was talking about but she was in all white and was holding my hand the entire way, i walked on a rainbow with her and also walked on clouds, cant remember the rest but i definatly remember that as being one of the best dreams i ever had, when we finished our travels she brought me back home in my bed and gave me a kiss, i think i had that dream when i was like 14 or 15 years old and im 23 now still one of the best dreams i had

Again, the fact that you can change your dream is all more a reason for what is termed a dream guide (someone...a role player configured by the subconscious mind that will eventually take you to the intended meaning). While it may seem as I am trying to cajole you into accepting what I feel that your dream may be doing, I am only trying to show you what is a common trend in dreams.
At some point the subconscious mind wants you to follow it's agenda, it will want you to follow it's thought pattern, so it can relay it's input and uncommon wisdom. As well, when the dreamer can form or manipulate the dream in any way that he wishes the mind also adapts (just like a chess game), as if to say, perhaps I have introduced someone that is being a distraction to the dreamer. This is when the role player whose job it is to get your attention, changes form...many times another type of guide will "take over". This type typically takes the form of someone who is more curious and gets the dreamers curiousity. I once had a dreamer who could take over when a beautiful woman would enter his dreams...he would say...no, how about blond hair, or how about with legs up to here etc.? The mind would accommodate for a few dreams, and all of a sudden a short fat man appeared in the dream proclaiming that enough was enough and now it was time to get down to business...The next dream once again featured an amazingly beautiful woman, only to be escorted away by the short fat man sporting a healthy attitude. He came back with a woman who was pretty but dressed for business....sporting huge black rimmed glasses, and holding a magnifying glass. Now the dreamers curiosity was in gear. When she got to the place in the dream where the meaning was to be revealed she stood there with the huge magnifying glass pulled close to her huge black rimmed glasses...looking at the message in bold print. Doctor's office!!! Time to go now!!! Check now!! (and his ailment was listed). Later he got back to me and said that it was an important message relative to what the doctor found (in reality) regarding his health. There have been so many dream guides through the years and one of the situations where dream guides are widely used is in situations just like yours, when the dreamer can stop and form the dream to his or her desires. When the dreamer is advanced and adept in this way the mind adapts... I have read a few books where dream guides were featured aspects of discussion by the analyst (author). Those books were read many years ago by me. I cannot recall the title or the author, however, I recall Jung discussing this aspect. The book that stands out clearest in my memory was one that was in the reference section at the "University of Texas". It was actually a published Doctoral Dissertation that was put in print. Being a huge skeptic about dreams in general, at that time, I read it and thought, what is this guy smoking?? After that, I had seen the concept of dream guide, appear many times and in countless dreams of others(that I happened to be evaluating). Dream guides in my dreams, were actually objects with attractive women...Give me a dream featuring a world class sailing yacht with a beauty aboard and I will do anything in my power (in a dream) to manage to get aboard. Or a concert featuring an incredible band, who all of a sudden needs a drummer. They are there and ready to play, the drums are always incredibly set up and sounding great beyond comprehension. They appeal to the audience for a drummer to so they can complete the concert, and I find my way up. When they start the song, the words contain the intended message of the dream. You see, when the subconscious mind knows that it has your attention or that the dreamer will pay attention to his dreams it will do what is necessary to get it's important message across. Maipulation? Absolutely! Welcome? Always!! I am what I would call a seasoned dreamer, but I am sometimes enticed with dream guides. All the best! sailrmc |
