Blue worm coming out of my arm

The dream starts with me looking at my right forearm, there's a blue string coming out of a vein - it looks like its about 2 inches long and I can see it working itself out. It doesn't hurt but its gross. Then I'm in a jeep with my husband driving like a maniac. We enter a park-like place, with these huge blue leafy plants that strike at us. My husband loses control of the vehicle sending us into a ditch, just beyond the reach of one of these plants that I am somehow familiar with and know that they are poisonous if they touch us. All of a sudden, a strange man takes me by the hand and I'm safe. I remember interlocking fingers with him and feeling completely peaceful. I look down at my arm and the blue string has turned into a worm with blue specs - and its about 6 inches long but almost out. I panic and the strange man offers to pull it out, but I don't want him to - I just want to let it work itself out in case it causes damage to the vein.

Weird and gross.

Any thoughts?

I'm sure this dream was caused by some pain in your arm! It is probable that you lay on it too long and it had pins-and-needles, or you had a cramp in it.
The dream is telling you that there is a problem with your arm and makes you look at it and move it about!

Some pretty harsh things have happened over the last year that have opened my eyes to the fact that I'm not crazy after all - I'm being verbally abused (and have been for the last 9 years). So do I stay and work though it, or hit the road...after all, I have children to consider... Do you see any advice in this dream?

There is nothing that says that you should leave. Rarely does the subconscious mind advise the dreamer to leave a marriage. Of all of the abuse and break up dreamers I have read for, in the past, there was one who's subconscious mind actually told her to get out!! And fast. This was a severe physical and sexual abuse case as I remember it. Typically the subconscious mind acknowledges or mirrors that such situations exist and the dreamer/victim must make her or his own decisions. In accordance with this trend, I do not see any advice. You, see it is the conscious mind that wills the body to act or respond, the subconscious offers acknowledgment (sometimes advice in these instances) but it is the "free will" (the job of the conscious mind via a conscious decision that will have to will your body to respond to your mind's fight or flight response (if it goes that far).
