I think this is an important dream and I need help!
It is night time. I am in a room, almost porch like with large glass windows looking over the night time landscape. Hundreds of black butterflies are in the room with me. I feel them on me, some are bitting me though not hard, some are entering my mouth and I swallow, I am trying to keep the butterflies from entering the room I am in. At one point, I look at a rather large black butterfly that is sitting on a rock or grassy ledge. However, when this large butterfly opens its wings, a translucent blue color is present. Ultimately, I look out the windows and a huge swarm of black butterflies swarms off into the distance. The colors in the dream are the earth tones of the wood that makes up the enclosed porch I am in, and the room is well lit for nightime, the butterflies are as described, and as the swarm flies off below me, the skies are dark blue, almost ethereal, and the landscape is dark, suggesting midnight or later. I sense momentous changes. Most of my research shows butterflies to be positive, the bitting and swallowing disturbs me as well as the black. Any help is truly appreciated! |

Of course it is your dream, and you have the final say as to what you feel that it means, but often we can become jostled by the symbols that the subconscious mind has selected to convey it's meaning. This is what I feel has happened.
This dream is really a rather common type of dream that introduces the fact that the dreamer is being influenced by thoughts of the subconscious mind through dreams (black butterflies). The dream takes place at night...common for the symbolism of the hours that the subconscious mind operates ( in actually it is in full operation most of of the time). The black butterflies signify a metamorphosis that you are experiencing as you are "fed" information that the subconscious mind sends to you "represented by black and night", what it gives you is food for thought, however, you see it as, something that is quite overwhelming (because of the nature of the presentation...bugs going into your body!!) The dream shows that you are undergoing change as a result of the awareness that is being incubated by the subconscious mind...you are being fed thoughts (in black) and feeling quite overwhelmed. Perhaps you have been dreaming an inordinate amount...this often happens to dreamers when the subconscious mind understands that the dreamer is paying attention to it's messages. People who are new to dream (meanings) have asked me, how do I stop dreaming now, OR, how do I slow my subconscious mind down. Stay tuned...but just before sleeping you might want to acknowledge, by saying (out loud and using your own words), something like...I understand that you are there, that you are part of me. I understand that there are meanings in my dreams and that they are significant. I am ready to listen to you and anxious to know what it is that you are telling me. Spot light is on you and I will be watching for meanings. sailrmc |

Hi,
Butterfly means a weak ignorant man that will have a death danger. If one dreamt a butterfly flew away from his back and he didn't take it, means he will have sex with a virgin girl and will have a baby boy.If dreamt he killed the butterfly means there is a death danger for his child. Swallowing a butterfly means a pregnancy is on the way in a month or two. Good luck.
