dreaming of a black leech/snake/warm

So, some time ago I had two nightmares which haunted me for a couple of days after I had them. One time i dreamt of a huge black snake (it actually did not have many snake-like qualities, so it could have been a warm or a leech). It was about my size. It's head was thin, but the farther away from the head, the fatter, and fatter it got. It was directly in front of me and I could not pass it.
Second dream involved a black dog.

well nightmares can often be your own minds way of shocking yourself. They show that you maybe just taking risks that are unccaptable. maybe you got away with something the day before that could have ended much more seriously.

Also a nightmare may simply reflect some bad feelings and conclusions about events that have just happened... the day before...

It is almost impossible to interpret someone else's dream. Dream use symbols many of which have a personal meaning. A particular symbol may have many varied meanings some of which are positive and some of which are negative. Take for instance a soldier whose appearance in a dream may symbolise a need for discipline.
