Question Continuing Orca Dreams

I am almost twenty. When I was a child, about seven or eight, I used to dream, every night for a number of nights, about a young male Orca that would meet me in a selected space of the ocean where we first met, and we would spend the night swimming together.
We first met because I was, I believe, stranded in the ocean. He and his Pod were swimming past, and he detoured to come and investigate me. His pod continued while he spent the night with me. I remember them singing to him to catch up and continue with him, but he stayed with me. From that night onwards, he swam with me, until, one night, he did not come on time, and for some reason was late.
I nearly drowned.
I do not remember the circumstances in my life at that time, but I remember I was shattered by this Orca who had always been there for me, and though he did arrive in time to save me from drowning, lifting my limp form to the surface on his nose, I lost my faith in him, and thus stopped dreaming, and stopped swimming with him.

Earlier this year, I began dreaming of my Orca again. The first dream was very warped - while the very first ones had been very realistic, this one was like a twisted disney movie, and he came to me, walking on his tail on the water, and more or less told me that he was sorry, he'd been learning, or in training or something, to better guide me -- I believe him to be my totem, or similar.

Since then, I've dreamed several more times, the most recent being the one described below, which I cannot seem to understand, nor can one of my closest friends... I looked up Orcas in dream dictionaries, and most say they represent distrust and suspicious motives... But I have such trouble associating the dream-creature I relate to as my totem as representing such a thing... Orcas, to me, represent hope, and dreams, and promises... good things...

Anyway, my dream:

At the start of the dream, I was me. I woke up in my room, and sat up in bed. I had previously been sleeping on my back [I'm a tummy sleeper] and looking out over the end of my bed and through a window in the dream [If I repete the motion in my bed, I look straight through my door and into a mirror and at myself], and into the stormy sky and ocean and towards the waters.

They were not there to start with, then a dorsal fin appeared, and another, and slowly the whole pod came together and began to dance and sing, and call to me, wanting my attention for some reason. They were anxious - but neither frightened nor excited, just... anxious though I do not know what about.

And then I wasn't me, persay, it was like, I was a part of the air, just a viewer, someone that was not a part of the show, watching as my mum and the others in my family [and friends, I think] all rushed out onto the beach and tried to scare the Orcas away, to get rid of them before I came out and saw them, joined them. I couldn't do anything to stop her, and then she [my mum] netted my Orca [who's name is on the tip of my tongue/mind but I cannot recall it...] by accident - they were trying to use the nets to shoo them out of the cove, or away from the beach at least, and I remember her calling out that he had to be cut loose, because if he drowned, than his body would sink and then wash up onto the beach, and I would know. And that couldn't happen; I couldn't be allowed to know.
Even though I did. I saw it all... but I wasn't me...

And, I don't know what happened then. I remember being in the waves, at one point... after that, I think. And I was trying to free him myself, my Orca... And trying not to get run over by the other whales at the same time, as they were all trying to help too...

I don't know, that part is all a confused shamble...

... Thank you to anyone that can offer any help!

well I think you are right to associate orcas with good things. I associate them with spiritual thoughts and deep emotional connections. I would link them to your wish to have such emotions in your life at the time. It may have been triggered by a real moment of mistrust within you... giving up on ever achieving certain types of moods. Often dreams can be specifically related to the day before. Think how the symbolic meanings of orcas link to that eg feelings of calm and spiritual connection. How did such emotions feature in your life then. Its likely that they triggered your dream.

Although orcas are largely positive symbols in this case the dream probably has a negative meaning.. showing a lack of the good emotions... or maybe even just a temporary mood ... that may have even come to pass within twenty four hours

------------------------
When you get a dream think carefully about which direction you are currently looking. Are you looking back towards yesterday and something that happened and how you reacted. Or are you looking forward to the day to come. If you are looking forward then its likely the dream is about some thoughts or fears about the day to come.
