well this is kindof retarded but i havent been able to sleep for about a week, at least no more than an hour a night. I daydream alot at school and because of this and find myself dreaming while im awake.. kindof. but very short shocking dreams.
The first one i remember is when i was in biology class and i closed my eyes for a second while sitting up and started dreaming: I dreamt that i was playing an online game with my friends but i was still kindof in class, like i was looking at a screen controlling my character but hearing where i was. While i was playing the game in the dream i asked one of my best friends a question and he purposely didn't respond, so i got angy and quit the game. Another one i remember was while i was in history and i put my head down (and these dreams start immediately): I dreamt I was in a desert with my father (he seems to be in my dreams a lot lately) and i saw a two-headed lizard.. Not both heads on one side but one on each, and i tried to tell my dad about it because he didn't see it, but after i explained it to him he didn't believe me and started walking off without me (because there are no lizards like this and he knows that) so i felt really bad so i saw the lizard again tried to catch it and when i grabbed its neck his head disappeared and switched sides, making it look like a normal lizard (and me now holding its tail) then i grabbed the remaining head and it also disappeared and switched sides (me now holding the tail again). I realized i would never be able to show my dad this lizard as i did so i gave up and walked away. As i walked away to catch up with my dad i saw the lizard with both heads on each side. This one was also in biology class while I was working.. I loss interest and put my head on my desk: I dreamt that I was in my room at home going through my backpack and clothes looking for my money. I then found out i had a hundred dollars in my back pocket of my jeans. I woke up and checked my pockets (believing this dream) and was disappointed to find 15 dollars. haha. |

Hi,
What keeps you awake at night? From your post I gather that you're addicted to something that keeps you from sleeping at night. It is no good for you. Your dreams that you have when you are in school are trying to wake you, trying to shok you awake. You have problems. Cheers Wolfjk

I have problems? Okay.. who doesn't?
I cant sleep because I stay up all night and have gotten used to only sleeping 1-2 hours a night. And are you trying to say I'm on drugs or something? I just wanted to know if my daydreams meant anything, the lizard one sounds symbolic, I thought. But don't know what it means. |

Do you think it's clever to sleep only 1-2 hours a night? It is true that napping in class makes up for some of the sleep loss but eventually it will get you down. It is asking for trouble! I would like to tell you that dreams mean this and that but there are others who do that on this forum. As I told you, when you have have a dream during a nap in school it means simply that the dream wants to wake you up and bring you back from the world of the dead. Seeing a two headed lizzard is more interestin than seeing a normal one and the extra head is there simply nudge your sleepy brain! Cheers Wolfjk Cheers

hmmmm, maybe you've developed a sleep disorder and daydreaming is your
body's way of telling you that you need more sleep to keep from physically and mentally exhausting yourself? I have a sleep disorder myself which de- veloped in high school and got worse the farther I got into my twenties, s- ometimes I would be running on exhilleration during the day, feel sluggish b ut with sudden bursts of energy in between, then crash when I came hom- e and not be able to sleep again as a result of the nap or if I did get sleep I'd wake up so early I did not feel rested. I would not advise sleeping aids because sometimes they throw your energy off during the day and can ca- use you to want to sleep in or relax excessively during the monring hours, but I was able to get mine under control by cutting out caffiene entirely a- nd limiting sugary snacks to things like fruit with something sweet to dip it in, eating more veggies and cutting out microwavable foods entirely that are chocked with grease and preservatives, I just cut out things that can cau- se you to feel sluggish during the day and resisted anything that gives me the urge to get that extra jolt because energy is like gravity, what goes up must come down, if it's artificial, it wears off and then you crash, want to sleep or take a nap, then you're up all night so try to stick to drinks and f- oods that give you natural energy and stay active during the day. I still h ave trouble falling asleep any earlier than about qaurter till 2 but I feel a lot more rested in the morning. If you feel that you are taking on too much e- xtra activities during the day and maybe your schedule is what is exhausti- ng you, try to think really hard what activities are really the most important to you and try not to over-do it for a while. I really hope that you can get your sleeping situation under control, sleeping problems suck especially if y- ou are intellectually inclined more than likely your focus is at it's peak later at night, you get tempted to play around, watch movies, tv shows, be on the computer, on the phone or visiting everyone early on in the afternoon/ evening then you get tempted to take out every book in your room or anyt- hing that you find stimulates you mentally later on at night. it can make y- ou feel like you want to hit your head against a wall, I actually didn't cut o- ut the caffiene until just here recently with all of the candy holidays and all of the sweets everywhere, I just kept helping myself to all of the sugar in s- ight and with the amount of caffiene I used to drink it caught up with me, I finally said 'that's it.' sometimes you have to learn the hard way for things to really take effect but hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. |
