wedding dream

I had a very strange dream last night. It began with me doing a running race for charity (I am due to do one soon). I was late starting and finishing by a couple of days but wanted to do it to get my sponsor money. When I finished the race in central Manchester, I went to my office where two work colleagues were getting married. The male colleague does not get on with the female colleague and was not happy to be getting married. The office staff were all sat on benches (similar to those in a school sporting event) whilst the groom waited for his bride. Another female colleague was also wearing a wedding type gown. Everything was dull and dirty looking. The bride came up to the wedding in the glass lift we have in a dirty looking ivory skirt over her work clothes (casual) and a veil on with dirty looking flowers. She seemed happy to be getting married whilst he was not - almost like an arranged marriage for them. Everyone was in a confined space and we were all very close to the wedding party.

I would appreciate any guidance - I have a funny feeling I know what this relates to. And I had received a wedding invite in the post yesterday.

Since you recently received a wedding invitation it would make sense that you are thinking about that event. Perhaps you have reservations about the couple in real life who are getting married? Did they slap the wedding together too quickly? The ivory skirt over work clothes; getting married in a work environment, the feeling that you had it was an arranged marriage would indicate you do not feel good about the inteded marriage; there is something contrived about it. Or, perhaps you are feeling stressed with whatever arragements you have to make to accomodate this event or their is some residiual emotional connection with either the bride or the groom that still needs to be resolved within you. Not sure if any of this fits but my sense of the dream is that it is event driven.
