When I was younger, about 10 years old I woke up in the middle of the night (not sure if it was a dream yet or not) to a grim reaper standing in the hall. The reaper turned and looked at me, turned away, and walked into the room across from me where my sister had been sleeping. I am a college student now and that dream has been scaring me ever since and I want to understand what it means. Also to this story, I woke up that morning and told my sister the dream. She was so shocked because she had the same exact dream, only the grim reaper walked into my room. PLEASE HELP!

well I do not know what the dream means but it sounds like some sort of shared dream. Its really too much of a coincidence. YOu both had dreams. It could link to some sort of telepathic link... and the dream is a symbolic representation of the thoughts you communicated between each other
------------------------ In order to understand dreams you need to understand neural networks. Neural networks are how the brain stores important information. The dream mind connects to something happening in your life by comparing it to something esle that has previously happened. Inreal life you may feel tired. So a dream connects to that event by comparing it to an event where you felt the same sensations. So your dream mind is saying "I felt as tired as I did when I was moving house". was the grim reaper wearing black or white? I do not know what this kind of dream means, but when I was living in my first apartment I was drifting off to sleep and saw a hooded apparition wearing white walk into my room. It stopped bedside and offered me its hand, which was not clear, but I know it was a hand that emerged from the sleeve. I kept shaking my head saying no, in the name of God go away (my grandmother had told me to say it) and eventually it shook its head and left. I woke up, sprang from my bed, announced to my room mate and her friends that I would be sleeping on the couch. But as soon as I started to fall asleep I saw it again. This time coming out of the bathroom which is a room next to my room. I did the same thing but this time the thing just shook its head and took my hand, and I started to sit up with it. Then I woke up. MY roomies friends were looking at me and I was sitting up with my hand in the air. Everyone of course starting shrieking and screaming and running around all silly. But I never saw it again. I did tell my grandma who said I should go with it and see if there was any buried treasure it wanted to show me, LOL

Hi Hillnj,
This isnt to scare you, but some say that seeing the grim reaper may mean your end is near.. but the fact that you and your sister had the same dream seems of the opposite.. When people fade away they dont see it coming, and i think this means that the grim reaper in your dream was trying to save you and your sister from something really bad happening, and by you and your sister having the same dream its possibly trying to assure you nothing happend after the figure entered eachothers rooms, rather kept trouble away from you. Hope all is well, Best wishes to you GMD |

To see the grim reaper in your dream, signifies the negative, rejected aspects of your personality. It represents aspects of yourself that you have repressed. Alternatively, it symbolizes death or the end of something.
To see a hallway in your dream, symbolizes the beginning of a path that you are taking in life or a journey into the unknown and self exploration. It represents spiritual, emotional, physical, or mental passages in your life. It is indicative of a transitional phase in your life. To see your sister in your dream, symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with her, whether it one of sibling rivalry, caring, protectiveness, etc. Your sister may draw attention to your family role and sense of belonging. It may also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has characteristics similar to your sister. Alternatively, your sister may be a metaphor and actually refer to a nun. In this case, she may represent spiritual issues. To dream that you are in a room, represents a particular aspect of yourself or a particular relationship. Dreams about various rooms often relate to hidden areas of the conscious mind and different aspects of your personality. well these are what the symbols in your dream mean. A lot of the time, dreams are not literally, they are aspects of your subconscious. So I hope this helps, you have to see if these mean anything to you. About your sister having the same dream, I don't know except that if you guys are really connected to each other, it is not a surprise that you both had the same dream |

It is believed that the TRUE calling to become a Shaman is started with recurrent dreams of the Grim Reaper. Later, if accepted to begin your journey, you'll become very sick and have some type of serious illness usually involving high fevers. Once your body proves that it's strong enough to heal itself, and if you are accepted, your journey will begin. Ask yourself truthfully if you have a dark side, whether you try to repress it or are in denial - if it still exists within you ? If your answer is yes, then this may apply to you. All of us have a dark side, but for most of us it is not the dominant side. Being a Shaman is not a bad thing, it is just a greater understanding of the darker side of being. You can find more info on KundaliniTeacher and search the word shaman. Hope this helps and hope I didn't scare you

Could you describe the 'Grim Reaper' in detail and, how at such a tender age could you recognise this apparition (or whatever) as being this vision? It sounds as if you and your sister are the children of religiously devout parents and it seems that you might have been engaged in some activity that you both felt was in some way immoral or illegal or something else objectionable. Why should you name what you saw as the Grim Reaper without some form of indoctrination having occurred?
PS: Re previous post; sorry, I do not have a dark side and I am certain that my view is shared by many. Those who do feel they have this 'dark side' usually seek refuge in religion. Last edited by Jennings : 04-22-2008 at 03:18 PM. |
