Hey, nice to get onto this forum.
I was desperately looking for some such forum. Last 3 years, I'm getting dreams where I see Huge cobra/cobras, mostly black ones. Important thing is they never scare me, they never even look at me eye to eye. They are just around. In first dream, I was scared to see such huge cobra first time (may be abt 20-30 feet) and ran behind a temple I was in. (am a Hindu, where cobra is supposed to be sacred) the cobra came behind me and as I was lying behind the temple, scared, with eyes closed, it incircled me with its coils and stood with its 6-7 feet huge hood raised above my head. Just a posture- kinda to possess and protect me from everything. after that in many dreams, I saw different snakes like once a huge python and once a small viper, looking at me and ready to attack me. in the first case two huge black cobras were around me, so the python couldnt do anything; whereas in second, a 30-40 feet long cobra suddenly appeared from below a rock and scared the viper off, and then raised up in the huge tree above and disappeared. Just 3 days back I had another dream where I saw my relatives worshipping the cobra Gods in a temple, and immediately after the pooja I saw one enormous cobra may be some 50-70 feet start from Deep Himalayas, hurrying thru the water of a river, jumping thru huge waterfalls and travelling day and night down the river thru water. I saw it swallowing other snake on the way, and proceeding further. thats where the dream ended. I'm not sure what all these (may be 7-8 dreams that I remember of) indicate. those cobras I saw never attacked me. and except the first dream where I got scared for first time, I never get scared by the cobra. It always scares off other snakes which are ready to attack me, and protects me. I dont find it's real life implications. how do we differenciate between seeing different types of snakes showing different intentions in the dreams. poisonous (viper) as well as non-poisonous (python). Can you people help understand the meaning of these dreams? |

well dream symbols can link to portions of our everyday thinking. A python could easily represent a real life thought such as "It is a real bad atmoshere at work". How the various symbols interact could be even more linked to other specific emotions. Some snake sprotecting you could symbolise negative emotions which are warding off even further problems(other snakes). It may show that AT THAT TIME you needed to fight off other people and bad comments. It may be a symbol then of retaliation.
------------------------ Many dream analysers follow the recent traditions and tend to look for deep meanings within our own personality and deep feelings. They may link to eelings linked to our long term situation such as jobs, health and life in general. That approach is actually slightly flawed. Dreams are very much in the present. It is true that dreams capture some thoughts about life in general but its best to see how drams point to specific feelings and moods on a certain day and at a certain time. So really dreams are more about moods. These moods and feelings do link to long term situations and relationships but only in the sense that the dreams capture some recent situation or feeling where such long term factors have featured. That is an important point to remember. A dream is not about some general tendency to be bullied its rather about how you were bullied or nearly bullied yesterday. Its an important point to remember because part of the symbolism will be very much related to that specific situation. So if the dream is about you been bullied its about how you were bullied yesterday and how you have reacted or changed your behavior in relation to this. Hi and welcome to the forum. I am no expert but from my own experiences and past dreams posted, I've learned that any form of snake was a bad omen. One snake usually meant that you had an enemy that was very evident and coming at you. To see several meant to be watchful of things and those around you. If the snake does not touch, bite or defeat you, then you should overcome it with time but just be careful.
(Just as an additional point on snakes .. when I was married and heading towards the end of my marriage, I had a dream about my husband, at the time, and his entire face turned into a snake's face. Not long after that I learned so many negative things about him and his lying so I took it that the dream was a warning of what was to come) Hope this helps .. even if just a little. |

Hi Mauresh,
I gatherfrom your post that you are from India. Your beliefs will be different and perhaps you expect a different interpretatin. Dreams are about what is happening in the sleep they occur in. Although you say the dreams dont scare you, in waking life you are frightened of snakes. Cobras occur in your dream as potential threats. A dream closely follows how you feel in the sleep. If you feel ill or if there is a need to wake up quickly the dream introduces a potential threat that can be friendly and benign one minut but can attack you and wake you up if your condition is bad. Cheers Wolfjk
