two nights in a row: dreams about hands

Hey, this is my first time here....

I don't have dreams very often, but the last two times I slept I had vivid dreams about my hands.

On saturday night I was a little drunk and I dreamt that I cut both of my hands off, a few inches above the wrist. I don't know how I cut both off, but I remember that after I cut them off I put them back on my arms. Then if they started to reattach I would rip them back off and then place them on the end of my arm again. I think I could still use my hands when they were on my arm. After pulling on them so much, the skin on my right hand was starting to slide off of the bone/muscle structure, so it kind of looked like I was wearing a glove that wasn't pulled on all the way. And later on, my right hand was on the ground and someone stepped on it... I was very upset.

I didn't sleep Sunday night because I had too much homework.

Then last night, (in my dreams) I was riding in my mom's old suv, driving down a street in the town I went to high school in. All of a sudden the streets were full of tall grass, higher than our car... my mom called it "lobster grass". The lobster grass started pulling me down the street away from the car, and I managed to get back inside the suv and shut the door, which severed all of the grass tentacles, which fell off and turned into severed black snakes. The lobster grass had bounded my wrists, so I now had little black snakes bound tightly around my wrists. My hands weren't bound together, they just had snakes around the wrists. I pulled them off and threw them onto the dash. There were tons of them and they were all hissing, and looked pissed but they weren't attacking. I flicked one on the back of the head a couple times and then it tried to bite me, then I woke up.

I thought the first dream was pretty F'ed up, but I wasn't worried until I had another dream about my hands the next night. Anyone have any insight for me?

How much work do you do with your hands? The dream suggests that you have some cramp in your hands while you sleep. It is also possible that that your hands get pins-and-needles while you sleep. Yet another possibility is carpal tunnel sindrome. Both your dreams indicate that you have pain in your hands while you sleep. Is it caused by too much writing? too much typing? or too much excersize?
