So an ostrich, a horse, and a water snake walk into a bar..

Ok, so I always have intense dreams but this one felt very different from any other. First of all, there was very little color. However, the colors present Black, Blue, and Deep Indigo, were quite vivid and rich. I don't remember the beginning of the dream but I know there was a large Black horse involved and although he was tied, he was on his hind legs with his front legs in the air. He was not aggressive; I think he was trying to talk to me actually. Anyway, the next scene is me at the shore of a relaxing beach and I'm in the water up to my torso (in real life I'm scared of open sea but I know that it is safe because I'm at the shore).

I see a long black water snake kind of coiled up but swimming in circles and about to go underwater. He's on my left and although I was thinking ok, be cautious it's a snake I felt no fear. It too was trying to talk to me to follow him. He did not have malicious intentions.

Dream swtiches and I'm at my client's new house (I'm a realtor and she just closed on her first house). I'm telling her that I had had a dream that there was a black ostrich in her backyard. Now, as I'm telling her this I look in the back and there's a HUGE completely black peacock and I say "no, it cannot be a peacock; it was an ostrich". So suddenly, the peacock becomes an ostrich and it was huge. I don't normally see details in my dream- it's more just feeling. But, I remember clearly seeing the detail in the ostrich's feathers. It was a black on black paisley design. It was very majestic and beautiful. The head was down eating something and all you could really see was the feathers. That was important for some reason.

All of the animals were completely black and very confident and almost superior. And they were trying to talk to me except the ostrich was not.

I think this dream is given to you as advance warning about some things that could negatively affect your life if left unchecked. From the symbols, I think you might be facing trouble from three different directions/sources:
1) something/someone of power & authority, very strong and swift, perhaps of the power of your own desires (horse, "horsepower", etc). This one is currently not operating as freely as the others (tied up) but is poised for action (on his hind legs with his front legs in the air.)
2) being led into deception or lies being told/dishonesty (snake trying to talk with you, "long tails/tales being told") and these lies are waiting to be sprung (coiled and swimming about submerged, hidden) at the right moment. Whereas the horse is on land, the snake is in the water. Water often speaks of spirituality, which may indicate some type of deception regarding what you believe. Of course, you aren't concerned, because that is the nature of deception! It convinces us there's nothing to be worried about, and this is really an area that you want to have clarity and truth, not deception.
3) you might recognize a lack of commitment or lack of proper concern (ostrich, see below) as something that has troubled your past (back yard) presenting itself (peacocks "present" and the symbolism is "pride" "proud as a peacock") in one way, but quickly able to morph. You may not be able to or want to acknowledge this, and ostriches often have their "heads in the sand." Ostriches are polygamous animals. There is a wonderful discription of them in one of the oldest Semitic writings generally available to the public today: "The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, but they cannot compare with the pinions and feathers of the stork. She lays her eggs on the ground and lets them warm in the sand, unmindful that a foot may crush them, that some wild animal may trample them. She treats her young harshly, as if they were not hers; she cares not that her labor was in vain."
So, I think the dream may be suggesting that danger could easily/quickly come upon you from these three areas (the flesh, the spiritual, and the moral/ethical) and it may be calling you to explore someway to overcome these before they overcome you.
