Fish and Snake Dream

I dreamt last night and can't seem to get this out of my head. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what it could possibly mean.

In my dream I witnessed a red fish (like an actual redfish, not just the color) which was flopping around on our back porch. I was watching through the window inside the house. All of a sudden a snake attacked it. I didn't see what kind of snake it was. The snake was striking at the fish, and yet somehow....I felt like the fish was winning the battle. Then....all of a sudden a male figure picked the snake up off the fish.

I have no clue what this means, but I know that a snake is usually a bad omen. Oh...and don't know if this makes any difference whatsoever...but I'm a Pisces.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm completely baffled by this dream and would love to know if there is any significance.

This represents something that is happening in your life and is somewhat a secret or information that you do not publish (so to speak).

It appears as if your feelings of passion are the topic of the dream. They are either being aggressively received by your mate. If this is the case the meaning is that so far your passion is safe...(that is to say that you have plenty of passion available for your mate and you are not overwhelmed by his reaction to this passion.

OR it is also possible that your need for intimacy is being displayed and some male figure is less than responsive (in a positive way). Possibly you are being chastised for your need for intimacy or closeness?

The symbolism is clear but the interpretation is derived through the context of presentation or through knowing more background about you (what is going on in your life).
If I am off base use the symbolism to overlay to your life of recent...you should find a parallel situation happening in you life.

This dream is an acknowledgment dream. It allows you to know that something is going on in your life regarding something that you do not generally talk about. There is either a healthy passion in your life that is well received (not overwhelming) OR there is passion or feelings that you display and someone is punishing you (in some way) for exposing these needs that you have.

Thanks for your reply. However....I can't seem to fit that into my life. I'm not involved with anyone nor have I recently broken up with or started dating anyone. But.... I am trying to decide where and what kind of graduate school I should attend in the Fall....and am kind of torn between what will make me happiest and what will be best for my future. It could have been the apprehension I'm feeling about that.

I don't know if that's very relevant....but thanks for helping to provoke some thoughts on the issue. I appreciate it!

The vast majority (upwards of 95%) of dreams we have are about ourselves, but I think this one is NOT about you, but is about/for someone you know. I say this because you are not an active participant in the dream, but only an observer ("In my dream I witnessed..." and "I was watching through the window..."). Also, it takes place outside of your "house" and house is often symbolic of our own self. So I think the dream might be giving you insight into what someone close to you has been experiencing and that a resolution will come about. The situation may involve someone that you know who has a special characteristic of wisdom or power (red) and who began new chapter in their life (especially in their spirituality) but this brought about a bit of trouble adjusting (fish out of water, flopping around). While they were especially vulnerable, someone began to attack them (snake--lies, venemous accusations? deceptions) but the fish seems to be holding its own in the fight...temporarily, because without intervention, the snake will certainly win. But relief suddenly shows up and removes the trouble. I think the dream is given to you to bring the good news that relief is on the way and to continue struggling against the snake.

The enemy will try to deceive or kinda hurt the girl.
