Dream about Dead Grandma

My Grandma passed away last year and I never had the chance to tell her goodbye. I couldn't even go to her funeral since I couldn't affort to fly to Germany.
Anyways last night I dreamt about her. It felt so real I actually could feel the softness of her black and white wool jacket what she like to wear at home. I also could smell her. The main part of my dream was that I told her that I loved her and that I finally could tell her goodbye. I started crying in my dream and thats when I woke up. I actually was still crying after I woke up but felt kind a relieved.
Can anyone tell me what this dream means. Or did my grandma actually appear to me so I can finally tell her goodbye and get some closure?

Yea Passed loved ones do come to us through our dreams .. The fact that you felt the familiar coat and her smell to me is verification of her knowing that you needed to get your goodbye out. A whole year later stands out also cause she prolly wanted to give you enough time where you could do a little healing on your own as well. I notice that dreams of passed loved ones I never see the mouth moving when talking. I wonder if you seen mouth movement.. nonetheless very nice dream i just recently had a grandmother pass and cant wait till my brain can fabricate a dream or even better she comes to see me !! I had a similar experience. My grandmother and I were very close and when she was sick in the hospital they wouldn't let me go see here. I was about twelve years old back then. Needless to say I never got the chance to say goodbye and tell her how much I loved her. It was about several months later that I had a verry vivid dream of her and my aunt julia who had passed on long before. It was like you said I could smell her scent and feel the texture of her kitchen table. We talked for hours and hours and I told her how much I loved her and how I was so sorry I never got the chance to say goodbye. when I awoke I thought I had been asleep for awhile but in fact I had only been asleep for a very short while. I had just shrugged it off as just a dream and nothing more. That maybe it was my own way of easing the hurt. I didn't tell anybody about the dream a had because it was still a very sensitive subject. She was such a big part of my family's life and they were still in mourning. Eventually I told my aunt (her daughter) by the time I was sixteen and then she told me of the visit my grandmother had paid her. She said she apparrently had the same dream in the same atmosphere only my grandmother told something bad would happen but it ould be okay and that she would be there for her. Two weeks later my uncle killed himself. She also reminded me of something I had long forgotten. When I was a little girl My aunt julia, my grandmother, my aunt lori, and I were sitting around the table in the kitchen and my grandmother made the comment that when she dies she''s going to come back and let us know she made it safely to the other side. I guess she did. I pretty much grew up being skeptical. I'd have to see it to believe it and even then I'd have to have proof. I believe my grandmother did find a way to come back to say goodbye and I believe maybe your grandmother did too.
